Feel depressed

Hi, there was a change in the workplace and my role has been removed. This is purely about business but I feel I am not good enough and not worth it. How should I cope such a change…

Dear Pink grapefruit,

You have already made a good start by identifying it purely being about business. That isn’t personal or says anything about you as a person.

Did you get an explanation why your role wasn’t required anymore? That could be helpful to you. You don’t have to share it with us. Often businesses is about money and not the staff who keep the company running. The owner may not see the employees as breadwinners or people with dreams. That isn’t on you. And not on a personal level either.

You aren’t just a number. This has obviously hurt you and I am sorry that this has happened to you. Perhaps you can make sure that you get a reference for your resume,so that is a little easier for you in your job hunt.

Please try to keep your head up. Your next steps in life may bring you better things then you have now. It also maybe a opportunity to explore something you always wanted too.

Christmas casuals are in demand and this maybe a way to gain an income and evaluate where you want to go next.

Wishing you the best,
