Hello,

I thought I would start this thread, about our pets.

I have read in the forums a lot of us has a pet or pets of some kind.

Be it a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, guinie pig, tortoise, snake, lizard etc: they bring joy to our lives, they are there for us giving us unconditional love.

I thought a it would be nice if we could share our pets antics, or if you've seen other animals, doing things that have made you laugh.

They can be funny, loving, outrageous, anything that your pet does or does not do that puts a smile on your face and might put a smile on someone's face that is struggling.

Please keep the stories light hearted and happy,

We all love our pets, let's let others enjoy them as well..

I will go first to get it up and running.

I have two little dogs, Maltese x Yorkshire x Aussie Terriers, I have Mum (4 years old) and Daughter (2years old).

My dogs have the run of the house, my back screen door after many attempts and lots of failures I put a doggie dog into it. I love theses two they are my fur family.

My story is about another dog I had many years ago, I called him boof he was a Belgium Shepard, I was sitting at my kitchen table one day just looking out my back door (creedance). Boof was just relaxing in the shade with my young son. It was a hot day and I thought I might take my young son into the pool. I was about to go outside when all of a sudden a cat ran across our yard, well Boof just took off after the cat yep my young son took off after Boof, then Boof it looked like his brakes stopped working, he was chasing the cat then I saw him slide (son still chasing him). he couldnt stop, he slid into the swimming pool with such force he bent the tin frame nearly flat to the inside of the pool, well a waterfall began, Boof was on the other side of the pool he crashed straight through it, my son ended up slipping on the water skidded to the other end of the pool, crashing and landing on Boofy scream of laughter was coming from my son, absolutely soaked to the skin covered in mud, Boof was trying to get up, slipping all over the place from the mud as well I think he was seeing stars from his hard hit, he couldn't get up. I couldn't stop laughing at the pair of them. They looked so funny covered in mud, the pool was later repaired. Son and dog was hosed off so it all ended well

Do you have a pet story to tell?

Kind thoughts

Grandy.

A big g'day to you and of course to all you beautiful people out there, thanx for the great feedback Ggrand's on my furball family I am quite partial to them myself although a lot of work sometimes take tonite for instance arrived home from work and after relaxing for 10 min went & saw the old gurl who preceded like she allways does in greeting me but tonite she deceided that I was going to get a massage with her claws out on my legs it was like getting acupunture treatment so quickly put her on my shoulder for her nightly cuddle. Snuggy/Cuddy both quickly greeted me as well but it was sniff sniff, pat pat and we are going to play in the big cubboard box in lounge room. So Ggrand you have found my secret lol, yes Spitty is short for Spitfire, could not think of a name at the time that was appropriate?? I would love to put a photo on my avatar I do have 1 on my computer but I don't know how to put underneath my 'unique name' perhaps you could tell me how to do it 1 day, I would love to do it! Time for bed now, so will catch up with all you good folk another time. Take it easy everyone. Cheers Spitfire1

hi everyone just wanted to share this story on my furfamily latest adventure in the names of Snuggles and Cuddles, sitting here a couple of nights ago and heard a noise in the house somewhere, Spitty was laying in the loungeroom chilling out so it was'nt her making a noise so asked housemate what the noise was, got dunno in reply again a couple of minutes later I heard a noise again same question and answer, no-one got up to investigate the noise at all, so wandered into kitchen and just happened to glance down hallway and spotted 2 sweet little furry faces peering at me from Spitty's room and the looks on them says we know we are not allowed here when put to bed but we are here and not coming out, turns out they have learnt to pull on doorhandle of door to open so next day it was a very early trip into Bunnings to get a new bedroom door handle this time without a lever, have not seen them after putting them to bed now, funny that? Hello Spitfire,

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous little kittens antics with us...I used to have kittens many years ago and they gave me hours of delight..

They sound so mischievous and cute, just like little children..and they seem to know what’s allowed or not..Then they give us that cute little look that melts our heart....They are much more smarter then we know with different personalities...

Kind thoughts,

Grandy..

Hello Grandy and everyone,

I have just gotten a 12 week old Kitten I named Zac. He is sooooo adorable. I already have a 2yr old named Iszy who is my everything. Now I have 2 everythings.

Iszy is struggling accepting Zac which is totally understandable. She is super scared but I am so proud of her at the same time. It has only ever been Iszy and I. She is too scared to come upstairs which is where she would spend the most of her days soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. I was almost in tears 2 days ago. My heart was breaking. I kept them separated on zacs arrival, only having each other's scent.

Zac had free run of my bedroom and ensuite upstairs. He is full of beans and at the same time, very much a snuggle puss. He is the cutest kitten, chocolate in colour and has dark tips on his ears and little feet ...and he has that gorgeous kitten smell. His first night in the bathroom he cried. I was trying to be 'consistent' from the start but nope, it didn't happen. Last night he slept under my chin....until 4am.

The first night, the 3 of us did not sleep. I'd spent that day taking it turns sitting with them 30mins at a time each. Thank goodness Iszy still gave me headpumps and let me cuddle her. I have been giving her extra cuddles and reassurance. I do miss her jumping on my bed in the mornings, she is very silent doing so.

Zac on the other hand is a pouncer with a loud thud. Even when I am playing with him upstairs. When I'm with Iszy downstairs we can hear all this thumping. ..iszy and i just look at each other.

I sat with Iszy outside in the courtyard with her harness, yesterday afternoon and this morning. She was her normal self outside which is a good sign. I've moved her bed food and water close to her hidey spot. Yesterday she ate a little, today a lot better.

Now all the doors are open. Zac played downstairs whilst Iszy observed a bit before hissing^growling. Yesterday they did have an unexpected encounter lots of hissing and groweling. So proud of Iszy with how she handled the situation.

I am soooo loving my furbabies. Gosh I love them.

As I write this, I am playing with zac with his toys. He has the cutest kitten noises , I'm loving his clumsiness, his attempts to jump on my bed, his pouncing on the floor and his willingness to keep trying. Gotta love our pets hey Grandy 🤗🤗😍😍💓💓

Hell Lee,

Zac sounds absolutely adorable...and so cute..You certainly have your hands full looking after, loving and caring for your gorgeous fur family...I really hope that Izsy and Zac become the best of friends..it might take some time but I hope in their own time that they will be great friends...A lot of patience is going to be required for all.

Little kittens are just so much little explores and mischievous at most times...

Isnt it strange how adult animals are afraid of babiy animals...I remember when I had fur buddy daddy, he was so scared of the puppies that he refused to come into the same room with them..when he did come in..he went straight behind my lounge and stayed their...but in time he started playing with them, as I’m sure Izsy will in her own time..

I hope the three of you all have some fun times with lots of beautiful and funny memories to be made..

Thank you so very much for sharing your two beautiful cats with us...

Love and hugs..💜🤗.

Grandy..

Hello everyone,

I live in a rural area with my Great Dane. Usual routine each day is he wakes me about 6.30 to let him out to puddle, I open the laundry door for him & leaving it open go back to my room to get dressed or to wait under the covers for him to come back in then he gets fed. One morning last month he came back in as I was still getting dressed & he did his usual watching my every move in anticipation of my being dressed & ready to feed him.

Before I was ready he suddenly dashed out to the lounge obviously in pursuit of something. Having had the odd bird fly in before I assumed that's what it was & raced after him to save it. I have the cube shelving as the side table to my couch & he had cornered the 'bird' in one of the cubes, I grabbed him & shut him out of the lounge then came back & pulled the couch away from the shelving so I could reach the 'bird'.

But it wasn't a bird, it was a baby fox which was hissing & showing needle sharp teeth. What to do? It wasn't very big but those teeth looked sharp. Tried wildlife vic & rspca neither could help as foxes are considered vermin. I was going to have to deal with it by myself. While trying to think what diseases foxes carry if it bit me I tossed a hand towel over it & made a grab.

It was sooo small it fitted in my hand, the poor little thing just froze & looked up at me with big brown eyes & that adorable baby animal look. I could feel it's little heart going so fast, it might be vermin but I couldn't hurt it. In past years I have seen the mother fox with cubs in the neighbouring paddock so I carried it outside & put it under a bush next to the fence line. Of course I then spent the rest of the day worrying if it would be alright & stopping myself from going to check on it. That evening I heard fox calls & when I checked next day it had gone so I think mum found it.

Hello Paw Prints..

Wow..What a very exciting night you had with a little baby fox..they are so cute 🦊...In saying that his little teeth would have been like really sharp little needles and oh so painful if the fur baby bit you..ouchy...I’m so pleased and thought what a beautiful heart you have to race out to save what you thought was a bird...and had a lovely surprise to see and hold a baby fox in your hands...

Youre Great Dane sounds wonderful and they know our routine don’t they, I mean waiting in anticipation of his meal...Lol but I had a little giggle imagining this giant dog running around being a good guard dog and protecting you...

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely story..

Grandy.

Hi Pawprints,

Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Great Danes are such gentle giants.

Thank you 🐾

Lee

Hi PawPrints Thankyou for sharing your story about your Great Dane, he sounds like a lot of fun and games as well as being playful and affectionate..) I too love my furbabies, the oldest being a 11 year old cat who just sleeps under the quilt nowadays and has a little play around midnight lol. The 2 youngest being around 14 months old and they are 2 little balls of terror, if they can get into any kind of mischief they will, it means virtually keeping an eye on them when they are wandering around the house although as of late they are becoming a little argumentive in their discussions with each other, both trying to lay their own boundaries with each other and pushing the wrong button with each other pretty interesting nowadays by the way they are both desexed. Hi gorgeous Grandy and everyone ☺

Gorgeous stories. They make you feel good.

Hoping I haven't said this already here.

I'm scared of dogs or any animals until trust same for most of them too.

Staying at my brothers once they have a as per Labradors a beautiful gentle nature she's a soft tan I guess sort of Gold flecks.

I was having a dance and she was standing right in front of me with oh those heart melting liquid soft brown eyes. I was smiling and singing (attempting to 😲) and I'm positive she jiggled with me, very gently her backside moved side to side, she's so gorgeous.

Fantastic thread Grandy 🤗
