Hey Everybody! Christmas is the time of year to enjoy & share with family & friends. Some people will spend this time alone & isolated too!
This is a safe place where people can post and say hello, chat or send wishes to others and have a 'Virtual Christmas/New Years'!
Whether you have plans for Christmas/New Years or having a quiet one you can kick back and just enjoy company of others. Its been a long year. Even if you have never posted on Beyond Blue before you are very welcome to come in and sit around our 'Virtual Christmas Tree' and chat 🙂
You asked for this Paul here it is for all.
Santa (AKA Kanga Peter) Ho Ho! 🙂

Thank you for the welcome. I have read through this thread and I hope that the Christmas pressure has eased for people. This time of year is always a bit unnerving, being completely out of routine and losing track of what day it is. Part of me enjoys the lack of structure but another part gets a bit flustered.

Hey CMF...Had my right leg on the coffee table with fluid on the knee.....and immune system that was compromised..Doh!

Artemisia...Thankyou for posting back.....You are very much a part of the Forum Family...I am ex corporate and have been trying to dump (some) of the structure I have had in place for so long....ugh!

As for being partially flustered....I hear you loud and clear!

Thanks for taking the time to have a sticky at the forums. This is only one thread of many as you know.

I really hope you can stick around the forums (if you wish of course) and any assistance is a bonus to this thread approaching New Years Eve or any other thread that you choose to post on 🙂

You are more than welcome Artemisia to post as many times as you like on the forums.

My Kind thoughts

Hello friends,

so NYE is approaching. Does anyone have plans? Anyone struggle like I do? Do you make ny resolutions? I personally don't make ny resolutions anymore as I believe if we want to change or achieve something we can do it anytime, we just need to have the will.

what are your thoughts?

Thats a great question CMF about what people are doing on New Years Eve

I really like what you mentioned in your post above..............."if we want to change or achieve something we can do it anytime, we just need to have the will"

I think I will be having a few Cranberry juices and playing some serious '80's music as loud as possible 😉

Struggling here too Country

'Video killed the Radio Star' by The Buggles may be a good start....and dont forget the track that MMMFM has been thrashing to bits for 40 odd years...'Hotel California'....and Bostons' More than a Feeling....and maybe Disco Duck by Rick Dees and his cast of idiots...Hee Hee...

As CMF asked above....What are you doing on New Years Eve??

My sincere apologies if I have made anyone nauseous with my tracks 😉

Thanks CMF for spreading the word!......"if anyone is feeling a bit lost NYE you can always come here, there always company"

Im sorry Kanga but I dont have the ability to play 'Flashdance' or 'Xanadu' on New Years Eve....but thankyou for asking 🙂

Unsure what I'm doing NYE. Normally watch fireworks with my daughters family at her MILs apartment but unsure if that is possible this year.

I've just started my annual review of goals for year. Some things I managed OK others need to get back on track. I find NY a good time to go through this process. For me having goals is essential so I feel in control & have some way to move ahead. Both important for me to feel OK mentally. My overriding goal is to be as healthy physically & mentally as possible. All my goals or plans are designed to help this. Many are ongoing because I've found they are helpful. For example getting back to my goal weight & maintaining it is important. I did OK most of 2017 but have let myself go more recently so need to get back on track. Having that goal written reminds me that I do feel better when I'm at the correct weight & eating healthy. The review process allows me to see what I've done well with also some things haven't done well & I notice the negative impacts so it motivates me to improve. Other goals are no longer helpful so I'll discard them. We are all different so I understand others don't find goal setting at NYE helpful.

Hi Elizabeth,

I love the idea of 'goal setting' rather than making a resolution. Goal setting to me indicates taking steps to achieve something i find the word 'resolution' quite firm and we all know that we need to be gentle to ourselves.

Perhaps we could change it from NY resolution to NY goals?

Whatever happened to Auld Lang Syne?? It's not NYE without Auld Lang Syne. I would feel cheated. That song always makes me cry. Is everyone here too young to know we have to have Auld Lang Syne??

I love the symbolism of NYE.....no goals, no resolutions...just love the drama and symbolic meaning behind it....the ball falling in Time Square New York....the fireworks, the "letting go" of the past year and all its traumas....but above all else....Auld Lang Syne with Moonstruck crying and kissing everyone!

Better form a queue...I'm a good kisser!
