Hi all

first time here but having a difficult time this Christmas with my partner’s parents being overbearing and not respecting our boundaries. Christmas is already hard to begin with due to past trauma so just had to take myself back to my accommodation for some alone time.

hope everyone else is coping today

Thanks Kanga, big hugs back to you and to Jackson too.

I had a good day until i dropped the older kids off to their dad. He is an arrogant jerk. Shame the day had to end like that.

Oooooohhhh thank god it's over

Thank God, Christmas Day is nearly over. Christmas lunch went better than expected, although, I did stressed out wondering if I under catered. Luckily, a friend of mine who enjoyed cooking and is so creative in the kitchen, helped out. Didn’t do much cooking. Thawed out prawns, cold meat platter, friend brought glazed ham, hubby cooked a roast pork, daughter baked a chocolate cake. Combined effort, loved it.

Perhaps, I can do it again next Christmas. Lol

Still, I am pleased it is nearly over.

Well , another one bites the dust eh.

Just thank ya lucky stars we're not in america or we'd have to go through it again tomorrow.

Anyway our roast was sorta a success, bit black but not to bad really.

My daughter and me are thinking of practicing and making our roasts our little tradition now.

Hope everyone got through the day ok.

Hi everyone,

rt89, I empathise with you on the overbearing in laws. How was your day? I hope you got through it.

Well Xmas is done and dusted. Anyone going to the Boxing Day sales? NYE is on its way, another tough one to get through.

Does any one do anything in preparation for a new year ie clean out cupboards, declutter, anytning start afresh? Any resolutions you'd like to share?

I am thinking we have a bonfire here NYE and we can throw all our crap from 2017 into it and burn it, ready for a new year of hope, clarity, positive outcomes and peace.

This is for GEOFF.....attention Geoff! Has anyone seen Geoff? Tell him there's a message here for him...

I forgot Geoff! Said I would say Hello on Xmas morning and I forgot!! How about a Boxing Day hello.......and reassurance I have not had a drink!! I know you were imagining me drunk in a gutter, clutching my empty wine bottle to my chest and muttering incoherently....but No! Fake "champagne" is as far as I got!!!

Just touching base Geoff, just touching base as promised......hope your day was OK....(question: how do you tell if you can be social drinker or not? As I said, one or two will not kill me and I never was a type of drinker who had to keep going and going and have 20, or pass out or whatever! If you can be a social drinker, why can't I?

Should I give it a try and see?)......I realise probably wrong thread to discuss booze but what the hell -just this once I am sure the BB'ers will overlook it??...........Cheers....Moon S xx

Well done everybody for surviving yesterday. It would have been very difficult for a lot of us, but just a bit better knowing we have friends here on BB who understand and empathise.

Dools you always say your memory is bad but it's excellent! I was just being facetious when i said christmas is cancelled, i just meant i had decided to cancel the ordeal on a general, worldwide basis 😆

Ours was pretty excruciating, and like lots of you, very glad it is over.

Recovery day today.

Hope all of you beautiful people are taking things gently with yourselves today.

Hi everyone,

Moon, well done. You did it, you got through yesterday.

Birdy, hope your road trip went ok.

Jacskon, still sleeping I guess?

I'm exhausted. Had an earlyish night only to be woken by some bright sparks (excuse the pun) who decided to let of fireworks at midnight in the park across the road from us. It was practically right outside my front door and extremely loud. I woke with such a fright and could not settle as my heart was racing so fast. Inconsiderate idiots. Myself and my neighbour have young kids. Somehow my little miss slept through it.

The selfishness and lack of consideration infuriates me as not only did they let off fireworks but they then laugh and talk loudly. There are parks around that do not have houses right across the road, go there for heaven's sake or do them in the middle of the park, not at people's front door.

Tired and grumpy 😞
