Hey Everybody! Christmas is the time of year to enjoy & share with family & friends. Some people will spend this time alone & isolated too!
This is a safe place where people can post and say hello, chat or send wishes to others and have a 'Virtual Christmas/New Years'!
Whether you have plans for Christmas/New Years or having a quiet one you can kick back and just enjoy company of others. Its been a long year. Even if you have never posted on Beyond Blue before you are very welcome to come in and sit around our 'Virtual Christmas Tree' and chat 🙂
You asked for this Paul here it is for all.

Some songs really pull at the heart strings. It's not all jingle bells and snow.

Thx for the clip.

Hi Everybody

Just a major typo when I referred to the new Beyond Blue subject heading as a 'thread'....Its a new Beyond Blue subject under staying well.....not a thread...My apologies for the typo x

Here is the link to what ChrisB the Community Forums Manager was referring to.....

www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/staying-well/coping-with-christmas

Happy Christmas everyone 🙂

Paul

Hi BlondGuy.....I don't post on here because I thought it was just for people to celebrate and wish each other a Merry christmas etc. Not a happy time for me at all, which is why I didn't think I could post. Not much point really as the date will come and go no matter that is a major trigger for me, (and my sons who are now adults but triggers for them from childhood also).

I joke about it sometimes on here as I do not want to bring others down and spoil their enjoyment. So, sorry if I shouldn't be here and saying this

I saw Chris' note about the Coping with Christmas tips on the BBwebsite...there was a thread last year that we all could contribute to ....for those who found it the opposite of a joyful time. (I think I even started one for others like me to support one another...i could be mistaken, but there was certainly one here).

Don't worry folks....I'll go now......see you next year... take care xx

Hi Lullaby

Thankyou for saying hello and posting too!

Giving this time of year your best shot takes great strength. I have had anxiety followed by depression for a long time now. I also dont want to bring anyone down through my own feelings too

I hope you can have some peace over the Christmas period too 🙂

Great to have you as part of the forum family, I really hope you can stick around Lullaby

Just have the best Christmas you can

My Best.......Paul

Thanks ChrisB for the offer 🙂

Hey Chris,

Thanks. If I understood what you had written I would give it a go. Hopefully someone else will know how to go about this! "Embed" to me is something that a rose thorn does into your skin. Ha.Ha. Modern technology and I just don't see eye to eye!

So to all of you who know how to do as Chris has suggested, that would be lovely.

From Mrs. Dools and my 19th Centaury brain!

I have done the biggest consult of my life found the answer yes the answer to it all ............... There are three more sleeps till Christmas so there you have it. To all who have contributed toward this year thanks. I have been other wise distracted. My mind has been all over the place. I have been safe and will remain so. As I refuse to give in to the nay Sayers. I wont let them win.

Kanga.

Hi Moonstruck,

We have had a Coping With Christmas section in previous years for people to post threads, but the issue we ended up having with it was, what to do with the threads when Christmas is over? Most of the people posting were dealing with issues that were ongoing, and Christmas was more of a trigger rather than the whole subject of the post.

Anyone struggling with Christmas is welcome to start up a new thread, or use their existing support thread, if you want to talk about this in more detail.

The chillout lounge here is a social space, but it's also a place to talk about and share coping strategies for the festive season.
