Hi selftruth
Welcome to the Beyond Blue community
It takes great strength to reach out and post, well done to you! The depression is difficult enough on its own not to mention having had an ABI from a stroke as well selftruth. I had depression and anxiety for about 30 years and I understand what you have been going through with the depression.
There are many very kind people on the forums that can be here for you. I have been on here since January after being made redundant. The BB forums have been a gift to me. It would be great too if you choose to provide support as well, whenever you are comfortable doing so of course.
You are more than welcome to post as many times as you wish:-)
We are here for you selftruth...you are not alone...
My kind thoughts for you
Paul

Hi Selftruth and a warm welcome to you.
Being off work doesn't mean we have nothing to contribute... You have been through a lot and reached a level of acceptance many find difficult to achieve. How could we ever help and support someone without insight into their situation ? Not only do you have a lot to offer but you are also compassionate and willing to do so.
Your contribution here will always be appreciated.
Connecting with others who can understand our struggles and give support and encouragement when needed reassures us that we are not alone, although we may feel isolated. Social isolation being a by-product of mental/physical illness, here at BB there is great need for warm hearted communication and empathy... often so hard to find in the world at large. So the fact that some of us cannot fully function in the commonly accepted way, makes us available and qualifies us to live useful, productive lives while following a different path. In my view, there's nothing humiliating about this. As a matter of fact, it makes us kind of special...
Great to have you on board, Selftruth.
