I was feeling awful tonight and wanted someone to talk to who won't be affected by anything I say. Found this site and look forward to using the forum and the online chat feature. Hope everyone is doing ok tonight... one day at a time:-)

hi Absolom, it's good that you have come to the site, because it's anonymous and can talk about anything, you won't be criticsed only given advise and certainly support from all or any of us who reply back to you, just remember that all of us have had or maybe still suffering from this illness for a long time, so we know what you are having to go through and feel sorry that you have also been trapped with depression. Geoff.

Hi Absolom,

I’m glad you have reached out and that Geoff has extended a warm welcome to you here.

I would also like to greet you with a welcome if that’s okay with you 🙂

Good on you for reaching out and opening up a little. I agree that it can be helpful to feel a little less alone by sharing with people who can empathise rom firsthand experience. There is a myriad of different experiences and struggles here so there is bound to be someone who can relate...but even when our stories aren’t the same, I find there is generally a desire to understand and care.

Speaking of which...

Hi Geoff,

and thankyou. It's nice to know there are friendly people here who also understand what it is like to go through it. On the bright side, it's good to know the low times do pass.

Thanks Pepper,

one of the difficult things about using this site is finding out how much and how many people are suffering. It is a wonderful experience when the clouds pass by and the sun shines bright again. I just wish I could blow those clouds away so everyone can bask in the sun. Ironically in real life, and not metaphorically, I love it when it's a cloudy day as it's not too hot outside 😊

Hi Absolom,

Thank you so much for writing back. I’m happy to hear from you again. I feel you have such a warm writing tone, which I like 🙂

Yes, I agree with you that there is indeed a lot of pain and suffering here, and it can be heavy reading especially if you’re deeply empathic. Having said that though, I feel there is also hope and light admidst the suffering. A bit of everything, really.

My gentle 2c is perhaps if you stumble upon anything that you find too heavy or triggering then consider not reading/clicking out of that thread or post. Just my small suggestion...

On another note, I think it’s beautiful that you want to make everyone’s day brighter. But I suppose suffering needs a “voice” too...and maybe by sharing all this heaviness/giving pain a “voice” here, the clouds really will start to clear for some 🙂

Caring thoughts,

Pepper

P.S. I smiled at your ironic observations (I hope you don’t mind).I like anyone who appreciates irony in life 🙂
