HI Faith,
Thank you for your post:) CBT is such a great therapy and I am so happy that you are seeking this out for yourself. I have not actually done a course myself but I found a link to the APS who are a highly regarded organisation for psychologists so I thought it might be a good place to start. Good luck and let us know how you go or if you need any more information, we can always keep trying to look and learn together.

Hi IF,
In a recent state of motivation and courage gained from here, I googled online CBT. There are several free online options. I went to headspace and did an online assessment but the course doesn't start til the 13th Feb. I don't know if others start immediately, I reckon there must be one that does. I'll have lost motivation by 13th!
I did see that online CBT can be very helpful, (60% maybe) and more so if assisted by a therapist, which headspace did offer. There is a great book here I downloaded from this site under FACTS on depression, that covers ALL forms of treatment options, including alternative, diet etc, with success rates. I'm gonna try probiotics too, easy and the gut-brain microbiome stuff makes sense to the scientist in me.
PS I did reply earlier today to your other post, but like you it was lost in cyberspace (My PC I think, not too long,). Basically, I can relate to all that you said. Ha ! 8 words, the lost one was just a few characters short of full. Hopefully we will connect again, 'Barry'!

Hi Jugglin Strugglin,
I have also accidentally nuked a couple of posts. (Don't you just hate that)
Yes they say that CBT is extremely effective in the treatment of anxiety. (and also many other conditions). If you enjoy science you might find a youtube video, 'Depression is a disease of civilization: Stephen Ilardi', interesting. It goes on to show the effectiveness of CBT vs Antidepressants. In some areas of the study, CBT alone has shown to be more effective than antidepressants.
Very science based with real data to back it up.
Nice to meet you and thanks for your kind help.

Hi IF,
In 4 regions of our country Beyond Blue has brought in New Access which is a low intensity CBT service find out more here https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/newaccess
People living outside of those areas have told me that they found mindspot helpful, and headspace if you are younger.
I like CBT for the mild to moderate depression and anxiety because the results seem to be good. Personally I found it practical which helped me stick with it.
I'm always interested to hear how others go with this, hope things go well for you.
Rob.

Thanks for the encouraging thoughts. It's tough to fight an illness you can't see or measure. (The mind is one complex unit) Well maybe not mine. haha 🙂
Kind regards
