Hi Mark Sleepy mmMekitty and all
It's been very very hot here today and very muggy but no storm although we thought one was building it was so humid and with dark clouds. I've been running around all day, only stopped for a brief lunch. The holiday makers here were happy with the hot weather I think, they seemed to be enjoying the beach.
I hope the medical appointment can help your son Mark, that's a difficult problem for him with school ahead.
Sleepy I hope you are managing OK there and the housemates are being OK.
Not much news as I just had to run around today and I'm finally sitting down at last now. We have a lifeline book fair on here at the end of the week, I always love those as I'm a bookworm. I'm glad everything is opening up after Christmas/New Year, I actually don't like it when everything is closed up.
I am wondering if I might get a kitten for the time being - I know the rescue organizations here are flooded with them - I always had a cat growing up - it might be a wait until I find the right doggie and in the
meantime the kitten could be settling in. I need a few things like a climbing post etc but they're easily got hold of at somewhere like Kmart. Anyway, I'm thinking about it!
I am off to finally relax for a while! I hope everyone has a good evening.

hi Hanna, mmmekitty and Mark!
Thanks Mark - I am okay at the moment. Had a lot of panic this morning about the NDIS but it seems to be resolved at the moment and maybe i'm learning from it. I can be more relaxed. There was an issue with being charged four hours for work on Sunday - I didn't have anyone booked on Sunday and have no idea why it was charged. They said it was a cancellation fee as someone believed themselves to be working on Sunday. I think I will pay it this time because then it keeps things calm with the worker. Maybe I can agree to pay half, I don't know? I am learning to try and manage them and be calm at least.. the NDIS can be rewarding if you know how to use it so I hope I can learn.
That book fair this week sounds great, Hanna. I hope you find some things you like. Are you enjoying reading anything at the moment? Maybe you'll find a whole bunch of great Summer books.
It is suddenly flooding here , was kinda cool to watch the rain from the cafe I'm seated in at the moment. Everyone stopped to have a look. My worker and I had a look online and it wasn't expected to storm at that capacity at that time - I guess I'm just taking a moment to marvel at nature.
I'm hoping to head to Kmart today and pick up a few things.

Hi sleepy NDIS can be a bit tricky at times.I have had similar things happen.I have had a provider take out the full amount of money even though they canceled on several ocassions as it was raining or to hot This was for a physio on horseback and was outside.Didnt seem fair they were still taking out money and they were the ones who had canceled.
I have been to the bookfest in previous years and are good to get some good books cheap.
- No rain here today but got very hot and humid and maby more storms around Friday. My daughter drove to Kmart this morning but didn't get anything just some things from Coles.

Hi Sleepy, I can imagine navigating the NDIS can be challenging, I think all these government departments can take some navigating! It sounds as though you are managing really well, good on you! It sounds nice watching rain from a snug cafe - it's great to just enjoy these simple pleasures, so often we're in a rush.
It was so hot today! I went to my favourite Cambodian cafe for a coffee - you can sit out on the verandah in the shade and get the breeze which is nice - and I bought an old fashioned armchair at an Op Shop - I need one for a corner in the loungeroomand this one was in perfect condition. Lots of older people here move into aged care or retirement homes and they donate their furniture to the Op Shops and it's often very good quality.
Yes I love the Lifeline book fairs - I usually find music CDs I like to try (I love owning the physical media so i play CDs still) - and I enjoy browsing the books. It goes for a few days in the local RSL. I'm reading a book I heard about by a guy called David Brooks, who is a columnist for the New York Times. It's called The Second Mountain - the quest for a moral life. He is talking about how narcissistic we are these days and all about money and financial success instead of focusing on our community and doing something useful and satisfying. It's been a big success and I thought I wouldn't like it but in fact it's very good.
The rainbow lorikeets know what time I feed them now and they sit in the tree branches waiting for the apple to appear! I love seeing them bathe in the bird bath afterwards. It's sprung a leak and I've ordered a replacement from Ebay as I couldn't find one anywhere here.
Glad you got out a bit today Sleepy and got some things achieved. You should feel pleased with yourself.

Hi Mark,
Just wondering if your daughter knows if there are many kittens for sale at the RSPCA? I thought there would be heaps but the RSPCA here is only advertising four kittens. I looked on Gumtree and people are asking over a thousand dollars for breeds like Ragdoll - I just want a moggie! I thought I might ask at the local vet practices next week, as I think theyre all so busy this week after the Christmas break.
I had thought there would be heaps of kittens available. The vet where I used to live nearly always had kittens available from litters that had been dumped somewhere and they only charged $200 for a kitten fully vaccinated etc. I don't know why it's so hard here!
Very hot and hunid today, I find it really tiring. I hope you son and daughter are doing OK Mark.
Oh and I got caught in the Coles carpark tonight between two huge SUVs - I had to back out so far I really thought I would hit anyone coming around the corner!
Have a good evening Mark!
