Hi Hanna I understand how a dog can be social connection for other people. The loss brings such an emptiness to your life.I could not find my cat the other day and hadn't seen her all day and is usually wanting food and I was so scared and worried that something had happened to her.My daughter even walked around the streets but couldn't find her.She adventurally found her asleep in the front garden hidden behind some plants. She must have been a bit off colour but seems to back to her normal self following me everywhere.
Baseball movies are good to watch and have seen a few like the movie 42 about the first black person to play major league is good true story.Plenty of fictional ones as well like field of dreams and the bad news bears.Their is plenty to choose from.
A storm was brewing here with thunder and lighting but seemed to have disappeared now so I might try to go back to sleep now.

Hi Mark
I'm sorry for the late response but I've had no wifi access for ages - it's just barely working now - something to do with fierce storms around I think.
What happened with your son? How/who attacked him - is he all right? I am so sorry to hear that news and I hope he is OK. How upsetting for you all - people can be horrible Mark.
Thanks for the kind words about Sam - my neighbours were saying how much they miss him too - he was a friendly little guy. Glad you also enjoy watching baseball - I think I've only seen one movie about it but I must try to get hold of some otheres.
Excuse the brief reply after such a long delay - I am running late tonight and the computer still isn't working very well and I'm not sure if this will get through - but if it does, do let me know what happened to your son and if he is OK now.

Hi Hanna I can't go into to many details here about what happened. It was between a boy in the year below him who was picking on my son and my son pushed him and the boy retaliated. My son will be ok and at least the boy won't be going to high school next year.
They have just bought in new laws regarding people holding a driver's licence with autism that now you got fill in some forms and get a medical certificate and be accessed by an OT that you are capable of driving. This applys to everyone who has autism and don't matter if you had a driver's licence for years. You can google the new laws about holding a driver licence with autism and ABC did comprehensive article on it.So my daughter can't drive now and I have to drive her into the big town for hydra therapy today and the rspca to we can get this worked out.Lucky my autism is down as a medical condition of mine as I wouldn't be able to drive either.
Yesterday I had to get an xray for myself and the place that normally I go to machine was broken and told me of the other two placed I could go to so I go to the easiest place to get to and they say their is a couple of people their waiting and then they are going on lunch and come back in an hour and a half time and be prepared to wait awhile.I went across the road and had something to eat and looked at the shops and cane back and sat down for 5 minutes and they called my name and I got in straight away which was good.
I didn't get much rain here yesterday only 10mm in the gauge and yet it poured down in the big town while I was there.

Hi Mark, I looked it up as I hadn't heard about the new regulations and it differs from state to state which makes it more complicated! That is a shame, and I am sorry your daughter can't driver herself any more! That must affect her badly. I wish the bureaucrats who make this regulations would worry more about the drunk drivers and the P platers who tailgate - these are the people who cause the accidents - and people who speed! How incredibly frustrating for you.
I'm glad to hear your boy is OK. I guess sadly that is the sort of ignorant behaviour he will come across from time to time sadly.
I have to get to a couple of appointments today in between thunderstoms! I hope you have a good day Mark

Hi Hanna I just got back from hydra therapy with my daughter. Its an hours drive from my place.Their was 10 in the pool including their support workers. My daughter use to have a session of physio first and then hydra therapy but ndis will only allow the hydra therapy. They are getting ready strict on what can be claimed now.
My sons starting to have toileting problems again.I don't know if this is to do with going into high school or being bullied.
A storm is brewing out here with thunder.

Hi Mark
We just had a huge thunderstorm here but it's so nice to hear some rain outside! I put the pot plants out so they could get a good drink from the lovely rain falling down!
I wonder if it's a bit of both with your son - going to high school and the recent incident of bullying - I hope he settles down again soon.
My neighbours are ripping off the NDIS and it's makes me cranky - they are nice people but she gets two gardeners and there is no garden, only a few pot plants - her husband is her full time carer and she still gets a woman to take her to the supermarket shopping! (Her husband can drive but he stays home watching TV). Then people like your daughter miss out on much needed treatment.
I knew a fellow back where I was living, in a wheelchair who worked for the NDIS. He said there were also businesses that were ripping off the system illegally as well. It's frustrating isn't it - it can make such a huge difference to people who are very disabled.
The library had a copy of Brian Cox's Life of a Universe documentary - I find it all fascinating so I'm looking forward to watching it! I had a long day today as I had an appointment and then a long phone call with an old friend, so I am about to sit down and relax at last!

Hi Hanna it is sad when people rip of NDIS as it's not fair on the people who do the right thing and only makes it harder for them.Dosnt look like I can get a laptop through NDIS now and my son needs it for writing and communicating. His hand writing is unreadable. So I will have to find the money for that now somehow.Everything has seemed to have got a lot harder of late.

Hi Mark
Yes I know - some people are selfish and then make it harder for people who are really in need. I heard someone once say that things go in waves and I think that's right - everything seems to go wrong at once - then you go Ok for a while - and then there's another wave of something! He used to say, you just have to get through one wave at a time.
We are in for a baking hot week and I have no air conditioning so it gets very tiring - even a couple of hours of aircon in the hottest part of the afternoon would help. I have started going to the library in the afternoon just to sit and read or do stuff on their computers as at least it's air conditioned there.
