Does anyone else have children with special needs.I am struggling with mine.My youngest cant use a toilet when their at the age they should be.I am getting tired of changing them, does that make me a bad parent? The constant hyperepisodes are taking their strain especially that i am going through other personal stuff in my life

I get scared before official stuff, and take it so personally when job interviews aren't successful, how does she stay calm? Yoga sounds helpful and grounding. Hope it went ok

The interview went well. They said they would call this afternoon but they never did so she must not have got the job unfortunately.I was really hoping she would get it.Looks like we will have to keep battling away with Centrelink

I am just disappointed for her as it sounded really promising for her.

Hi Mark,

That's a shame. I think a lot of people are attracted to that kind of work with animals, so I wonder if they had a lot of applicants to chose from - that makes it so hard.

I hope your daughter isn't too upset - it's a tough job market out there, so she just has to keep on trying - but it's disappointing for her. Gosh it's tough isn't it these days - when I was a young thing you could just walk straight into a job after you finished school.

I know you feel disappointed for her too. Something else will come up. I hope TAFE is still going well for her.

Hi Mark, I hope something even better comes up.

I was disappointed when I missed out onna good job, I think sadness is normal...hope she's OK. Nice to hear how she's going and sounds like she's been busy since finishing school and had an open minded approach, trying for different jobs.

Hi Hanna my daughter seems ok about it.I seem more upset then she is.I know how hard it can be to find work especially out here in something you want to do and be good at.Not many jobs like this are going and might be ages before another one pops up.Their was another couple of applicants for the position. She has Tafe tomorrow and is looking forward to it.I need to drop her off at 8am.Hopefully when she finishes this course she will have more of a chance to get a job in this field

The lady did ring to say my daughter didn't get the job.I am feeling it's a reflection on me as a parent. It is so hard to find work in this field especially out here where it is so limited. And Centrelink is still stuffing her around. How is she suppose to survive on nothing?I think Centrelink needs a big overhaul.

Hi Mark,

It's not your fault, as you've said the job market is tough out there, for a job with animals like that they probably had a lot of very keen applicants, and who knows why they chose the one they do, it could depend on so many things. I think after she's done the TAFE course your daughter might find things easier and the course might help to give her more self confidence too, and support from friends she makes during the course.

Sorry about Centrelink, they are like this with everyone, I think they are overloaded after the pandemic, and the amount of paperwork they need is ridiculous. Everyone I know who has had to deal with them finds it awful!!!

Hi Mark, you got this, despite all those challenges you a day your daughter have got her 3 or 4 interviews....pretty amazing...maybe in the end they hired friends or relatives for the jobs...

I felt devastated when I didn't get job interviews and would give up looking for ages, because I felt so embarrassed and worthless...I think u guys are doing the right thing keeping trying

Hi sleepy I have never done a job interview ever probably due to my fear of being rejected.I feeling the rejection my daughter is getting.I don't want her to feel the rejection as I know it will effect her mental health if you keep getting rejected.
