Hi everyone
I hope you're staying well today.
Who else likes gardening? I would love to connect with people here who are happy to share their gardening adventures.
For me I know that gardening helped heal my soul during tough times. I hope it will again.
Then with other things going on, it became a jungle.
I'm part way into rediscovering it again and doing A LOT of hard yakka atm, when I am motivated.
I have new dreams and ideas to put into the many bare places, as I remove thickets of lantana etc. This will all be on a tight budget and I'm ok with that.
I want to create a peaceful place where I can be.
I would like to grow food again (tell 'er she's dreamin' atm lol).
I would like to re-establish my worm farms and compost heaps.
Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year in the garden.
I'm 'alone' in my gardening journey and would love to share and hear about other's gardening antics. Hopefully we can troubleshoot any issues in our gardens and talk about any healing we're feeling too. There's a lot of knowledge we can share. I hope this thread can brighten your day!

Hey Gambit, I like Mark's suggestions for shade loving flowering plants... there aren't as many as ones that enjoy sunlight.
You may like to Google search Clivias.
We have some and they love the shade.
I like how they multiply (in pots too), so every so often you can divide them up for free plants lol.
Agapanthus also like the shade but similar to Clivias they don't flower for very long.
I like the ability to control those 2 plants.... with Daisies, if you plants one you'll have them everywhere.
I know! I have an indoor plant with caterpillars on it on the 2nd storey of our home lol, go figure!

Hey J*, yep it's a POPPIN all right lol.
I actually have to bring snails HOME for my chickens!
I bring them home from our work garden.
Oh the savagery 🥴😆🌈.
I just remembered that my friend used crushed egg shells all around her veges in her garden.
Here's hoping something works for you..

Also,
We have fuzzy caterpillars around atm, and T accidentally put her hand on one. Soo itchy! So she googled it, and here's my /T's tip......Use sticky tape to remove the hairs which stick into the skin!
It works so well, after a few goes she felt heaps better.
Cheers,
J*

If your grown 🍅 are tasting watery it can be from receiving to to much water that doesn't mean they are watery inside.

Aw rx that's so disappointing!
Well since you have 2 million of them, I bet you're going to have tomatoes growing in your garden for like.... forever!
I've still got random tomato plants popping up and I haven't planted ANY for about 10y lol!
Not sure why they taste so awful... pretty sucky. My sympathies go out to you rx.
Hey J* ewww spikey caterpillars??? Is T okay now?
Mark thanks for all your support in this awesome thread. You really make it a Garden of Eden to be in!
My resident Turkey is driving me NUTS!
His IDK what you would call it... a HALF mound?
Is now blocking the exit drain from the laundry by about 50cm high.
I think this fella has pushed his boundaries TOO FAR lol.
He's going berzerk uprooting my last surviving plant on one side of the garden and actually turned over a concrete pot plant!
I think I'll name him The Hulk or Wolverine or something lol.
SO my "holiday" time will involve some way of blocking off THAT part near the house... maybe making a dry brick wall (I have plenty of spare bricks lol). And I think I have to lay bricks all around my plants' root systems because plenty have been exposed now due to the scratching GRRR.
And my wheelbarrow has a flat tyre lol. So I'll be carrying those silicone bucket fulls of soil SOMEWHERE else.
IDK my brain's too frazzled to think about it atm.
"Happy" Gardening everyone lol. Oh the joys!
