Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

I looked up the peacock spider on ytube Eagle Ray. I think I can see why you would be fascinated by them. I watched one that I think was called peacock Spiderman. Actually I had never heard of a peacock spider before. I watched this video and it does look they are dancing. The male spider had a very colourful part that like looked like a painted face. And while he was dancing digeroodo ( wrong spelling) music was playing. Fascinating to watch. Thankyou for mentioning these.

Thank you Shell,
The flies didn’t creep me out, I think because the details are so amazing close up. It’s like their eyes are made of many tiny parts. There is so much more detail in how they are formed than we usually see. The little peacock spiders are amazing, aren’t they. There seem to be a number of varieties across Australia, each with their unique colours and patterns. They are really tiny and I’m sure many people have them in their garden but have no idea. The first time I ever saw one I was living in a granny flat in someone’s back garden and he had come inside and was on my kitchen sink. I was so excited to see one for the first time.
I’m already taking supplements for my liver and sticking to a cleansing type of diet. This has actually helped a lot. Having low stress is very important for it too. My lungs have certainly improved. Thank you for thinking of me.
I had a nice walk today in the woodland across from where I live. There was very soft rain and it was very still. I stopped to pause and take in the stillness. A bit before it rained I sat on a bench on an embankment above a lake. I was hearing frogs in the lake and then one little frog behind the bench started to croak, talking to its friends in the water. It was so cute 🥰

It is beautiful how you find wonder and appreciation for all things in the wildlife world. So many people I think miss all things. I notice a lot, but never knew anything about those spiders.
And you do sound like you were excited finding that spider on your kitchen sink. Frog 🐸 croaks can sound cute. There was a frog once in the broken down pipe out the front of our place. The croak was so amplified. Just as well they wouldn't feel embarassed by that.
I did have a little look at what you were diagnosed with. So I could understand a bit more. What popped into my thoughts was a doctor called Dr Brooke Goldner, she had an autoimmune disease called Lupus. I know it's not the same. But her body was still attacking itself. She healed her body from Lupus by changing her lifestyle. Just thought I would mention her, just incase it helps you any. Hope that is ok to mention.
Definitely looking at wildlife around you appears to bring a calmness to you. Well that is how your writing comes across on here. So opposite of stress.
Liked reading all the beauty in your post

Walked around the neighbourhood this evening. It is about an hours walk. I could feel the air on my face, a crisp, fresh chill is how I would describe it. Mixed up at times with the scents of people's fireplaces. That burning wood scent. Smelt someones dinner waffling through the air. I didn't know what food was cooking though.
With this walk , we walked up a slight hill, heading towards the traffic lights and school. Then onto a concrete path that goes past a tyre place, houses, a bowling club, the local pool, and a large oval. It is about here at the oval the path runs out. Then we cross over on the crossing which faces a church. Then walk along another path on this side of the road. There are houses along here mostly. Plus an old shop that has closed down. Outside the shop is a boat. It looks odd there I think. Along this path is where a tiny black cat followed us all the way home one year. I remember carrying it a little because of the busy road. It was so cute. We went back the next day and found his owners.
Anyway we walked to the service station ,tapped the metal bar with our hands( we often do that , I am not sure as to why) then we walk on back home. I really do like the crispy air.

Dear Shell,
So glad you have been on your walks. Thanks about the autoimmune disease. I do believe they can often be healed by lifestyle. For me I’m really getting that as being healthy in mind, body and spirit. When those parts of ourselves are at peace and in alignment, I think that’s when we start to heal.
I could almost feel the crisp chill on my face from how you were describing it on your walks. I like that feeling in a way because it’s a feeling of being alive and out in the elements. I love to walk on such nights.
I liked hearing about the little black cat. It’s nice you carried him for a bit. I could sense many things from your descriptions, including the sound of the metal bar being tapped. I hope you really enjoyed your walk tonight and have a lovely sleep 😴

Today I have walked down to the river. Fairly soon I saw a pod of dolphins. There seemed about 5 but hard to tell as they don’t all surface at the same time. They were quite energetic and purposeful, almost certainly chasing fish. They are powerful in the water making sudden turns and moving swiftly.
Only a bit further along I saw a seagull squawking above some fish jumping out of the water. Seeing this a cormorant flew from the other side of the river and began swimming underwater to try and catch a fish. On nearby rocks in the river terns and cormorants are resting. I’m sitting opposite them right now.
It is warm in the sun which helps counter a bit of coolness in the air and the breeze. I’m having some trouble with breathing but feel better for stopping and having a rest. The water is gently lapping the shore while in the distance waves are crashing noisily at the river mouth. If I feel up to it I might go to an ocean spot at sunset.

Thankyou for giving a glimpse of your walk Eagle Ray. It sounded absolutely beautiful. You sometimes see black dolphins near the breakwater here about this time of the year. Swimming north.

Your walk has inspired me to go out and walk. Maybe I will do just that. Feeling quite unmotivated today. Thankyou
