Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Hi Shell,
The crop has been harvested, what is left is all the stalks. The sheep were all in one long line, the crunching was more the noise they were making as they walked through the crisp stems of the remaining crop.
Sometimes the farmers still burn the stubble, they did that in our region last year, not sure if that will happen with the stubble near us.
It is 40 degrees here today. I was thinking of a drive tot he beach late this afternoon early evening, but it is just too hot!

Ah I see about the sheep. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
Yeah 40 degrees is pretty hot alright. Would be nice to go for a swim at the beach. Can't remember if you had said you swim at the beach or not.
So do you have air con in your car? If you do that should cool you down some if you end up driving to the beach. You could even have a picnic somewhere there.

Hello everyone....🤗..
Isnt it strange how the sheep and the cows always seems to play follow the leader...it really does fascinate me how they do that....
We had a heavy downpour here today...,On my way home from my volunteer job, there was a lot of water over the road in different sections.....One car a 4 wheel drive didn’t even slow down when going the running water on the road...My little car, got a good wash from all the splashing going on.....If I had my window down..,I wouldn’t need a shower tonight 😂😂😂...
Sorry, My post isn’t about walking or exercise, just wanted to talk to you all here, when I read about the sheep in one line..🐏🐑🐑🐑🐑..🐂🐄🐄🐄🐄l

Hi Grandy, Shelly and all,
Lovely to see you here Grandy. Sounds like you had quite a bit of rain! It is so very dry here. Yes, it is funny how sheep tend to walk along behind each other, or at least if one sheep decides it needs to run from something, the whole flock decide to do the same thing.
This morning I decided to take a different road in our small town. I saw about a dozen rabbits and some hares, I don't often see them our side of town. If I had left 15 minutes earlier, I would have seen the sun rising from a different view point, one which might be more spectacular than my usual viewing place.
It felt good to be out walking and to also take a different road for a change.
In a large front yard, a very friendly sheep came to the fence, stuck its head out and invited me to scratch its ears and head. Once it had enough of that, the sheep just wandered off! Funny thing.

Hi Grandy and Mrs D,
I quite like sheep. You don't see many around here. Though the hobby farm down near the rec area has some. Anyone know if they put oil on sheeps heads? Maybe a odd question, but it relates to something else I have been thinking about.
I have not been walking for a couple of days. Went tonight though. I walked up the road and back. Our cat started to follow us. She didn't follow us all the way, just to the corner near next doors house. So cute.

Hi Shelll and all,
Thanks for this great thread.
No sheep where I live. I do come across many cats though on my walks. I like walking past gardens and noting which plants appear to be thriving in our area.
Take care all,
LL

Hello LL,
I often to the same thing, look at people's gardens. I really want to improve my own. So I look to see what grows best around here. Quite a few people have citrus trees even in their front yards... The people across the street had a beautiful large camellia shrub growing in part shade near the corner of their house. So I was thinking I may plant one of those at our place.
Quite a few cats live on our street. Super cute

Hi Shell, LL and All,
I'm visiting my Mum today so will leave early so I can go for a walk along the river near where she lives first.
Not sure about putting oil on sheep heads. When I had finished rubbing the friendly sheep around the ears the other day my hand was quite dirty. It would be amazing to see how much dirt is washed out of a fleece once a sheep is shorn.
Going for local walks at the moment along the same roads. Some truckers seem a little amused when I wave to them as they drive past me.
A nice cool morning here so far, nice for a walk before I visit Mum, covid safe style!
Cheers all.

How are you Mrs D, you seem a little more cheery.
I read again how you saw rabbits the other day. It reminded me of this very tiny old timber house. I have walked by it a few times previously. There are tons of rabbits which look like they live under the house. No one lives there. So cute when you see them hopping around with their little white tails.
Did you enjoy visiting you mum and walking near the river
