Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

I am sorry you are going through all these issues with your wrist and thumb Elizabeth. It must be real challenging. Have you ever tried a natural pain relief or heard of them? I am trying to think of the one I was on for pain relief a while back.... Actually pain relief and inflammation. It had curcumin, ginger, bowsellia and perhaps some other herbal ingredient. Might be worth a try for you. I just want to help Elizabeth.
It's great you did some cardio there while walking to the GP though

I cycled 3 times around the block today. Twice in the morning and once this evening. And I feel much encouraged by that, as I can see slight improvement it fitness and the muscles in my legs feel stronger.
And the fresh air, breeze and sunshine just makes me feel better as well.

I felt like I needed to get out and walk tonight. I wanted to feel the chill of the crisp night air on my face. And breathe in more oxygen into my lungs.
So I walked down my street and then onto the other street that runs parallel to the main road. I walked for a kilometre or so up to near the traffic lights. Turned around there and walked back.
I purposely looked up into the night sky on my way back. I did see a couple of stars. But mostly it was pretty dark up there. I was walking by the torch on my phone though so the street was lit up some.
The slightly breezy air did feel cold on my cheeks, making me feel alive, which was what I wanted. Like that feeling.
I heard a squawk of some bird and the flapping sound of the flag outside the service station.
And on the way back, I had a quick jump on a mini tramp that someone was getting rid of. So I decided to retrieve it as it had a fairly good bounce. And looked in pretty good condition. It is super good exercise as well.

Walked on the beach today, then came back the Breakwall way. I noticed a bit of seaweed on the sand as I was walking along. The sky was that pretty blue again.
Forgot to say that yesterday while I was walking on the Breakwall Path... the most cutest small dog came waking on past me with their owner. I kept looking at it, because it had a hat on. The doggie had a hat on. I have never seen that before. Don't know how it was strapped on.

Hi beautiful and awesome people
(someone greeted me this way recently and I just really felt encouraged by the greeting, not sure exactly why, but wanted to give it to you as well)
Yesterday I catched up with my sister whilst walking over in the next suburb. We walked along a wide footpath mostly along the main road over there.
