Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

That is a good idea about looking for animal rescue numbers. Believe I will do that in my area.
Did you find it helpful Mrs D, your walk on the beach yesterday. It did sound beautiful and sunny.

Just at dusk I went walking on the breakwall again. The noise from a cargo ships horn rang out and echoed in the port. I like that faraway sound.
I walked to the end and back. As I turned around to walk back, I looked at all the coloured lights in the city way ahead of me.

I decided to walk on Breakwall Path again. Just before that I bought some hot chips, which came in a small cardboard box. I started to eat them as I walked along. Then just up above me seagulls were hovering around. I knew what they wanted. Then the hovering came closer and closer. So close I could have just touched a seagull . I am not sure how many were near my head. But it felt like a lot. It was challenging to even walk. As they were in front of me as well, simply hovering in the air. I ended up throwing 1 chip over to the left of me, just so I could keep walking. I guess it was fun in a way.
Anyway I kept walking
It felt real good breathing in the fresh ocean air. On the way back there was a man sitting on his skateboard whilst being pulled along by a largest dog. I heard the clunky clunk clunk noise behind me first. It was the wheels of the skateboard going over the gaps in the concrete path that made the "clunk"noise. The dog may have been that breed that pulls sleds in the snow. I am not really sure
