I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.
Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )
I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.
So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Hey Sleepy, just wondering whatever meds you were on did they make you Sleepy?
You just seem a little less sleepy maybe in your style of writing or something

I am sorry you experienced support service people like that. Its sad.
Do you still feel like you are not here? Think I can relate to that.. I call it the "far away feeling" For me it's like you are not quite awake or something. A self coping mechanism so I don't have to feel the emotional hurt.
Also noticed too much junk food can take me into the "far away feeling" sometimes.
It does doesn't it the binging has a promise of soothing to the soul qualities shouting out sometimes.. Its challenging to say no. Then afterwards yeah it's physically not so good. And emotionally as well.
Is your breathing better now, are you able to move? Poor thing.
The cruelty of others behaviour can affect us. Sometimes I try to see it has a reflection of who they actually are. Do you see it like that sometimes?
I do hope you are feeling better today Golden. Just wanted you to know I am hearing you is all.

Yesterday
Breakfast... none
Lunch.... The other budda bowl
Dinner... I was not feeling hugely hungry. Ate purple grapes.
Snack.. Iced chocolate on soy milk. 1 hot cross bun
Today
Breakfast.. Frozen banana, frozen strawberry, almonds, cacao, medjool dates and coconut water smoothie
Lunch... Ooh I made a burger. 🍔A red kidney bean and mushroom pattie(first time making that), lettuce, tomato, charred pineapple, avocado and cashew sour cream

I also ended up having some pork and mushrooms because I was hungry.
Todays food intake;
2 eggs on flatbread
Rice and spicy mushrooms
Yoghurt with chia seeds
Salmon and veg

Hi mm, I know the sedating feeling....It is not easy.
Hi Shelll Ur right I'm much less sleepy...I haven't taken any meds for a while but I'm using one for sleep that is helping me . I think it's Really helping stay calm because I used to not be able to sleep through the night.
I've taken a fair few meds. It is hard to manage weight gain on some. I feel what u said monkey .

Yeah loads of ppl gain weight on those medications Sleepy as you are aware. It's a pain.
I would love to come to your place to eat Shell. To me you always eat such healthy and interesting foods.
Adding to today's food intake I also had some pineapple and a banana milkshake. I add vanilla and cinnamon to the shake. Writing what I eat is helping me stay accountable. I love food, and I love eating lots of it but I've learnt the hard way it can lead to obesity so I'm really limiting myself these days. I used to eat heaps. Lots of carbs too. And late at night. I feel better on less food.

Actually the pineapple and banana milkshake sounds yummy, especially with the vanilla. I might try that. Sort of a tropical sweet concoction there.
I agree with the eating late at night can aid in putting on weight. I also sleep better if I don't eat late too.
Dinner.... Was a large salad. With shredded cabbage, lettuce, apple and sultanas with this creamy cashew dressing. Even my "dairy loving, doesn't eat much vegetables" son likes this one.
