*Trigger warning* Eating for Health and Wellness

I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.

Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )

I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.

So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Hi Shell,

Because I'm doing a weight loss comp I'm happy with what I'm eating if I lose weight which is proving to be difficult bcas I tend to eat more when I exercise bcas I'm just that much hungrier.

I currently weigh 149 kgs. I think this is the first time I've ever posted my weight.

I think I eat quite well bcas I only eat when I'm hungry but I signed up to lose weight and really want to so I'm trying to eat to do that.

I usually don't eat until mid- morning/ lunchtime.

Sorry MM and Golden. My posts written to you guys are awful. If that is the right word. My issue was I didn't know how to respond, so I forced writing something. In fear of whatever it was I was fearful of. I read them and they did not sound real or something. Hate that.

Sometimes I can write and it seems to flow naturally . If it doesn't I will wait.

Anyway sorry.

I didn't take your post to be awful Shell

Food intake;

Pesto crumbed chicken, sweet potato,salad

Yoghurt

Salad with pork, avocado and crunchy noodles

Yoghurt

Thankyou MM,

And yeah I used to experience much more hunger when I did cardio at the gym. Not so with the slower paced walking I do though.

I am unsure how much I weigh at the moment. It was the meds that you were on mostly that a side effect was weight gain hey. I am not on any meds.

Avocado is yummy.

Brunch...Lots of cherries and a plum.

Dinner.... Budda Bowl, it had marinated tofu, brown basmati rice, cucumber carrot ribbons, tomato, spinach and 1/4 of an avocado. Drizzled with this tahini dressing.

One thing I learnt from that challenge I did at the beginning of the year was make 2 portions of dinner. One for the next day for lunch. I did that tonight.

Snack.. 2 iced chocolates on soy milk

Yeah I started gaining weight when I was medicated. It ruined me. If only it was as easy to lose it than it is to gain. It's 3 times harder to lose it...

Hi mm,

I am not on meds but had been in the past and it was a struggle, so i feel the pain...

It is hard...

Hi Sleepy,

Yeh it is. I piled on weight and became unrecognisable. It had to do with the sedative effects and they were making me eat more. I really struggled with any exercise due to being sedated.

Thanks for being empathetic and understanding x
