I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.
Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )
I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.
So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Thanks for this Grandy I must try it! I try not to eat much meat and lots of vegetables is what I like!
How fantastic you have lost so much weight good on you!
Off for my second AZ jab this afternoon. Had a lovely long walk with Sam and he had several paddles in the river as he loves the cold weather! 😊

Still struggling with comfort eating today... so sick of it. I just want to be free from it.
However today I made and ate a delicious salad. A new one addapted from a recipe book.
I served it in a large bowl as it just looks more fun, colourful and appetising to me.
I cooked quinoa. And while that was cooking I mixed some canned kidney beans in with some diced fresh tomato. Then placed cos lettuce, chopped red capsicum and some fresh coriander into the bowl. Next to that I placed the kidney bean mix, then next to that some cooked quinoa. Poured a dressing of balsamic vinegar, maple syrup and tamari (like soy sauce) over the greens and capsicum. So yummy. Then added a tiny bit of creamy basil dressing (blend cashews, water, lemon juice, salt and basil)
It tasted yummy to me and super filling. As the quinoa and beans fill me up.

Hi Shell and everyone,
I have quinoa in the cupboard and it's been sitting there for months. I really need to start using it.
I too have been making salads and I made 3 ltrs of green juice with kale, celery, cucumber, pineapple, apple, and coconut water. This juice makes me feel on top of the world. Literally makes me feel so good and energized.
My junk of choice has been chips, lollies, and U don't feel the best after consumption I agree.
Anywho just thought I'd pop in and add a post. My weight loss has kinda stalled but I'm still trying to get it off.

Gosh yeah MM, you just feel like uh awful word... but crap when you eat junk. Think you notice it more when we eat very healthy for a while. Then start getting into the junk again. Because you know how much better your body feels. Like the comparison.
I am so glad you posted, because I know we think similar in some things..
You so inspired by all your juicing there. So good all that green leafy kale. Do you mix up the leafy greens at all?
I ate pretty much the same salad I had yesterday... well because I wanted to use up the rest of the beans. I added corn to it this time as well.
I am wanting to lose weight too, for health reasons. I am pretty much the same as I was a few months back.
And yeah quinoa.. It can be super filling especially paired with beans. Do you think you will pair it with a salad?
Thankyou for popping in. It was so very nice to see you

Just thought I'd pop in to say that SBS Insight had an episode on Emotional Eating that you might be interested in watching.

Hi everyone,
For the last couple weeks I've been ordering from meals on wheels for convenience and to know the calories I'm consuming. I'm liking not having to go shopping or washing up since they're pre- made and delivered straight to my door. Lots of meals to choose from too.
My weight isn't budging. I know it's up to me to do more, eat less, yadda, yadda....hope you're all enjoying your food.

Ah yadda yadda ya loved that actually MM. I can relate to the yadda yadda ya thingy.
Meals on Wheels... That would give you a break from cooking and shopping hey. I didn't realise younger people could get that delivered.
Wish I had something to say that was encouraging or something to you.
