I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.
Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )
I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.
So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Hi Golden, Sleepy, MM, Grandy
I am so very sorry I don't know what to say about anything you have written. I did read a few times but not much is sinking in. I wanted you to know I do care.
So much struggling myself, it's hard getting out of bed and moving. As I don't find much of a reason to do so. No purpose.
Just ate mandarines today and made a vegetable /split lentil soup. And ate some soup.

hi everyone!
Hi golden, i'm always very grateful for ur posts. U are appreciated and cared for here.
I'm sorry you have had a hard year and felt you didn't have friends... i liked the way you accepted it. I have had very lonely periods in my life and accepting it sometimes was hard. and sometimes also ppl rush to befriend unsuitable ppl just to chase away the loneliness (me. I've done that. I'm talking about myself.)
I wander if there are some times in our lives where we need to be alone, and that's okay. Hope that doesn't seem to minimise...
I send you care and hugs.
I'm cheering you on

Hello Shelly...
Thats okay beautiful lady...sometimes when we’re not feeling very well with our mental health it’s hard to know what to say......
I love lentils, barley and beans in soup..I made a very yummy vegetable soup on Saturday and having my last bowl tonight...
Shelly...it’s really important for both our physical and mental health to eat enough to keep up our energy as well as our heart, blood and mental health to be healthy...eating just a mandarin all day..then a bowl of soup really doesn’t give you enough vitamins, minerals for your body and mind to function properly.....Sweety...if you can manage even 1 piece of toast..or my favourite a small bowl of porridge for breakfast....and then maybe a light salad for lunch then your usual dinner...so you have enough to vitamins, mineral and food to digest, to stop your body from going into starvation mode...which then starts to do harm to both your mental and physical health...I occasionally read here that you sometimes just have a piece of fruit for the entire day...or a smoothie....If I have said wrong dear Shelly I’m sorry..it’s out of my care for you I’m saying what I am?..I care for you a lot Shelly......and want the very best for you..
This Saturday I’m going to make a bacon, tomato, and cheese bake....oh so many calories but I’ll reduce my portion size....(if I can😂😂)....
my hugs, love and care everyone....
Grandy...

Thankyou for caring Sleepy and Grandy Golden. My body is feeling like it has been run over by a bus. Aches. Headache. Emotions all over the place. Anger, irritable, sadness, far away feeling, unrealness, tiredness, scattered thoughts, heavy head, not rational
On day 2 withdrawing from refined sugars and junk. Pretty sure most of the above symptoms are from this. Experienced it all before.

Hello Dear lovely Shelly..
I hope your feeling better today...
I once went of coffee, and wow did I have a head aches for days after....Withdrawal symptoms from different foods can cause changes in our mood, body and mental health...The more water you can drink to help flush out your system, I think and hope the quicker the symptoms will disappear...
Love and care to you lovely Shelly..
Grandy..

Hi dear Grandy,
Oh the coffee withdrawal does not feel that good either. Do you drink coffee anymore Grandy? I use to drink ice coffees a lot. Ice coffee dares made from dairy milk. Just make an ice coffee occasionally maybe once a month now using soymilk and coconut sugar, dates or maple syrup to sweeten it. Makes me very jittery caffeine. And more stressed out.
And thankyou you reminded me about drinking water. I shall drink some now. I bought a large 800ml glass bottle to help me. 💦🥤💧
And yes I am feeing better then before. My head is feeling much clearer, headache has now gone.
And I just ate some cute tiny potatoes, quite a few of them, with cashew cheese. To help with some cravings that I was having for maccas.
How you going with your meals, now you are out of hospital? No pressure to answer though. You are free Grandy. I was reading on your thread a little about that.
And I had some porridge yesterday since you suggested it. Ate some with strawberries, chopped up dates, almond butter, soy milk.

And definitely mandarines are super yummy at the moment. Love how they are in sections in there little coats.

Hellooooo lovelies lol...
Mandarins are AWESOME atm, loving them.
My oranges are slowly ripening on my tree and I can't wait lol.
The lemons are falling off the tree, I can't use them fast enough.
Tomorrow I'll squeeze some lemons over a mixed berry and banana fruit salad.
Coffee yeah, gosh decades ago I developed breast lumps and was cleared but was told to avoid underwire bras and coffee!
I gave up coffee cold turkey and I do NOT suggest doing it this way.
I vomited for 2 days straight. I thought I had a tummy bug but nope, it was caffeine withdrawals.
Shocking.
I drink a lot of tea at home but definitely no coffee.
Some times I have the ALDI brand Decaf coffee because it's smooth, creamy and so cheap!
Maybe about once every 3 months lol.
I made a super yummy ham hock soup this week.
I LOVE barley so a heap went in.
This was 3 dinners for me and 4 lunches lol.
I even froze some for later.
I went way overboard with lolly consumption last weekend and ended up with a tummy ache... grrr lol.
Drinking huge volumes of water settled it quickly.
Love EM
