Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..

Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...

Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..

My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...

Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..

Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..

Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...

My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Hi Missep, 😺Good on you, for recognising that you were slipping into old habits, then resolving to get things done on yuur 'To Do List', & appreciating your own successes, & also recognising that what you have achieved is enough, & you don't have to do it all at once, & therefore, won't end up feeling defeated... learning how to pace yourself, that's so important. 😺

Today I am trying out my own biscuit 'recipe'. That's too good a word for throwing stuff in a bowl & mixing to what I think is a good consistency, putting lumps of the mixture on a greased & floured tray, into the oven & hoping! I'll let you know how they turn out.😺

I put in oats, sultanas, breakfast cereal with other grains & currents & things I'm not sure what, & crushed up some cashews too, with some artificial sweetener & real brown sugar. I try to keep the sugar to a minimum, but it is sugar that makes them crunchy... I hope I put enough.

I also used my margerine because the only butter I hav is the garlic vutter - & I don't think that would have been right for these bikkies. I would like a savoury bikkie recipe, but I like to make crunchy, so what might I use for making crunchiness, if not sugar?

That is bold of you or maybe just confident! I always follow a recipe even if a few things get substituted. I have tried to create my own recipes before and the results were rubbish.

Nuts are the what comes to mind to create crunch and you already have that. If you mean a “short” biscuit instead of chewy doesn’t that rely on fat eg more butter etc?

Hope they turn out well 🙂.

Hi again.

Bikkies are fine! 😺 With the brown sugar & oats & nuts etc, they remind me of ANZAC biscuits, but more chewy in the middle, 'cause I made them thick & big & they didn't spread much. Crunchy on the outside. I am happy with these bikkies, even with a few hairs in them - I am surprised there aren't more!

Hello everyone...

Thats so beautiful MC...to let your daughter know you love her...She is a very lucky girl, having a beautiful and loving mum like you...🤗..

Hi missep, I don’t have a to do list..I have so much that needs doing that I think having one for me would be to overwhelming....I am so sorry that you felt yourself falling back into old habits, I like it that you have been gentle on yourself...take your time with your to do list...when the time is right and your feeling up to doing one thing from it....then that’s the right time to do it...gentle hugs 🤗..

Wow mmMeKitty, Cooking your own biscuits..I am in awe of anyone that can bake without following a recipe....Did they turn out crunchy?...throw one through the screen and I’ll be your taste tester.😂..I bet the aroma in your house was unbelievably comforting when your biscuits were being baked...

My achievements over the week end...I went to my friends beat granddaughter’s Christening...Awe bubby is such a beautiful precious little girl...I was okay in the church, but very uncomfortable at the venue afterwards...Sunday, hmm my achievement for Sunday, was catching up my sleep 💤..I did get out bed and moved onto my lounge and had a few cups of tea’s throughout the day....

Hugs everyone with my kind thoughts..

Grandy..

don't know if i'd call this an achievement but i went to the art show again, this time with my Mum, as i went with my Dad a couple days ago, in my town. they have one every year on the March long weekend, i love them. didn't buy anything this year but i always like seeing the creativity of the paintings, drawings, sculptures, patchwork quilts, mosaics, etc. i wish i had talent to enter something even if it wasn't for sale like some pieces are. lots of people there today though, about 50 or more. so the people standing in the way were annoying me & just the crowds.

I don’t like making phone calls to businesses and out it off. This morning I made one and even though the person to,d me I was ver impatient as I asked a question, I took a deep breath and didn’t hang up, well done me,

Hello Everyone,

Tayla..I would definitely call your 2 trips to the art gallery an achievement..two achievements..well done..going with your mum and again a few days later with your dad sounds really awesome and I think you are a beautiful daughter...by going with each of them...I enjoy looking at other people’s creative works...I see ideas in my head of things I want to make...unfortunately my motor skills are way behind my creative thoughts...well done sweet girl...

Quirky...well done you...you done very well by not hanging up...Like you I dislike ringing businesses...and avoid doing so,,

Hugs everyone..

Grandy..

hey quirky. i'm sorry that person was rude to you, but well done for pushing through. i hate talking on the phone too, i get all choked up, even if it's just ordering food from down the road in my town. so i understand. i even had to get my psychiatrist to make appointments for me (but this time he forgot so i had to contact the telehealth company) as they're just rude there & don't have a clue.

thank you grandy, that means a lot. i love art shows. it's something i got from my nana. i'd like to see other art shows in oher towns like melbourne CBD or whatever one day.

I finally stopped agonising over whether to tell my mum a certain thing (keeping it bottled up had given me a lot of anxiety) and decided to tell her, and it all went well. 🙂

glad to hear that doberman38, well done
