Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..
Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...
Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..
My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...
Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..
Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..
Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...
My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Yay. I'm far too excited to see your profile pic. It suits you, and looks lovely. Now, I'm procrastinating doing sensible things as I rush off to attempt to upload a pic myself. 🙂

Hello everyone…..🤗,
Sorry I haven’t been around the forums much lately, The internet tower in our town was making one area without tv reception, they have been working on it for a while now…hopefully it’s fixed and we all have tv and internet access to our village….
You have all done very well with your achievements…Well done!….
Today I used my new washing machine for the 2nd time….(I’m finding it complicated to use)…practice makes perfect….(so the saying goes) 😂..in time I will hopefully get used to it….The lines I put under my back veranda broke a couple of weeks ago, so I’m having to use the rotary line out back…with a broken step and my not so good hip, it makes it hard….you should see me😂😂..put the washing basket on top my my garbages, grab my pegs, hobble, the best I can down the steps, put them on the ground, go back for my washing basket then hang them out….wait a few hour then do it all over again….to bring them in….We can find ways to help ourselves when we need to….and I’m good with that…😁..
Washing done, hung out and dried, brought inside…now to fold them…hmm I think I’ll do that another day….cuppa tea time now I think…
Hope everyone is having a good day…
hugs, love and care 🤗❤️🌹.
Grandy..

Hello Everyone,
Happy Sheep I love your new avatar! Very cute! Is that Shaun the Sheep from Wallace & Gromit?
Grandy, I'm glad you have been able to use the new washing machine even though it's complicated. I often leave my washing in the basket and have a cup of tea afterwards. In fact I have a basket of washing sitting next to me right now as I type this that are still not put away yet and its almost 11pm here 😂
Kimmys23, that's great you managed to go out without panicking. I think each time something like that happens it confirms it's possible and makes it a bit easier.
Quirky, well done on the early rising and putting up the picture!
My achievement today was sending a text message to someone I have been struggling to communicate with. I've been having difficulty knowing how to respond to someone but finally found the words. I think I feel better for it though I always find it hard when I have to communicate something that involves being a bit assertive. I worry so much about upsetting the other person but then will tend to overlook myself. But I managed to communicate and can feel I'm getting a bit stronger at these things.

Grandy, great to hear that you're making good progress on using your new washing machine! Kimmys23, well done for not panicking when you went out, you should feel very proud. And Quirky, nice going with putting up the picture! And ER, great work being so assertive and responding to somebody who you've had difficulty replying to. Good communication takes time to master.
My small achievement: I got a tip at work today, and it made me so happy because I felt like what we were all doing had mattered to somebody and made a difference at their special event, which was nice.

Hello good people,
Grandy, I'm so excited you have a washing machine! I hope you can work out how to use it. I hate to sound old but I do find these things are way more complicated than they need to be. I just want to push a button and have it wash things! I have no idea how to my dish washer. I just keep pushing the button until it stops beeping at me and does something. 😉
Well done ER, sometimes being assertive is the hardest thing of all. It can be much easier to allow yourself to be a doormat. I'm glad you stood up for yourself.
Kimmys23, what a great step forward for you, too. Nice going to be able to go out without panicking.

Hello Everyone 🤗
sbella, it’s so nice to receive that affirmation from the person who gave the tip. It’s lovely to know you made a difference for someone.
Happy Sheep, I agree that things often seem overly complicated now. I love my little old car because I can wind the windows down by hand and everything is as basic as it gets. Of course it has no safety tech apart from airbags. One safety option that I think would be useful is a reversing camera. But I’m pretty sure if I have to get another car I don’t need all the bells and whistles, but there is no such thing as a simple and basic car these days. I feel if a manufacturer made one it would be quite popular with a lot of people who would be really happy with the basics.
My small achievement so far today was watering the back garden. I’m watering sparingly as we are in drought but trying to just enough to keep the plants going. Of course the little birdies love it and get quite excited. They come into the bushes that got wet after I’ve finished watering.
I hope you all have a happy day 🙂

Watering the back garden sounds very relaxing, ER!
I got to read through all my emails today and reply to some after being sick for most of the week, which sounds like a pretty boring achievement! But it was still nice to do.

Well done SB on reading through the emails and doing some replies. It is very easy to get a backlog with emails so it’s definitely an achievement to get through them! I hope you are feeling much better soon.
My small achievement was listening to a couple of podcasts while making and eating dinner. I am very slow at preparing food and cooking, and I’m quite a slow eater too. So getting through two podcasts was entirely doable. They were on a topic around a problem I’m trying to solve at the moment and they helped me reach a point of clarity about how to handle a situation. So I got to do some learning while preparing dinner and eating dinner.
