Dear New Beginning

I'm afraid I have no experience with this alternative treatment. Beyond Blue has a very extensive paper entitled "A guide to what works for depression" and Reiki appears on page 80

https://resources.beyondblue.org.au/prism/file?token=BL/0556

apart from that if you Google:

reiki beyondblue

you will find some post from others who mention the word.

I hope this helps.

Hello New beginning, a good question which I don't think has been discussed a great deal.

Please remember that everybody's experience may be different, however, I've had a friend who believed that Reiki would do wonders for my depression, and as I'm an atheist I was never convinced.

Her husband was a naturopathic doctor, anyway I decided to give reiki a chance of helping me with the ongoing depression I was suffering from.

The session lasted well over an hour and there was some reaction to how my muscles reacted which my friend said this was from reiki, I can't agree or deny this but when the session finished, my depression still remained.

I hope other people had a better result as situations and circumstances can play a huge difference.

Best wishes.

Geoff.

About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with C-PTSD.

The core feature is "The Mental Death" - but no one can understand it unless they have it.

Trapped on my bed, in my room (lucky to not be homeless for a while), I could make no outward changes, so I went inward, and upward, and decided to get a few qualifications for no reason; maybe the future.

Reiki was *so* popular - I figured it was just a gimmick, like anyone could say they were a Reiki Master. (And I'm actually legit very spiritual, and a natural healer - hot-hands and heart, and a touch psychic.)

So I thought: "Well, why don't I just a get qualification." People care about qualifications, but I don't.

I honestly expected nothing.

However, I was SO surprised... I got my Reiki 1 attunement online (which I was even *more* sceptical about!). I lay down at the meeting-time, and just surrendered. Near the end I sensed a strong Rainbow beam out of my right hand, and not long after, literally the lower-third of my brain felt alive again.

Like, I wasn't "healed" but something had definitely changed.

I became a Reiki Master, and tried it on people who also didn't expect anything - and pain instantly disappeared and we were both shocked.

I'm still not healed, but Reiki really was "something", and not nothing.

I use it nearly every day... not always on myself, but it's like, a really interesting phenomena.

Have you looked into herbel remedies?

That helped me, too.

You can't mix some with anti-depressants, and some other medications, but that's because they are derived from it!

Do I recommend Reiki?

Yes.

I especially recommend becoming a Reiki student/master.

Even your attunement may change something!

I got an aromatherapy diploma, an interior design diploma, became a Reiki Master, wrote a TV Pilot, and designed a detailed plan for new Global Governance. I'm sure I did more things, but I just do them because I don't care. And because then people can't tell me to "do something", or "have you tried..."

Anyway, I hope you feel better; I hope everyone does.

Thank you Golden Butterfly,

Im so happy it has helped you.

Ive just been researching different healings, mediations and crystals and while i dont expect it/them to take away all my issues, it has definately helped to get my mind off things. Which is a great start.

I will definitely continue to look into Reiki more. I love the basic principles of it already
