Do you have some positive affirmations that have helped you get through difficult moments? If so, share them with us and to add to those listed below...

I will end up doing more than I can imagine.

Everything is as it should be in this moment.

I am just the person I need to be.

I love the ways in which I am like no one else.

I may be 1 in 7 billion, but I am also 1 in 7 billion.

I refuse to give up, because I haven't tried all the possible ways.

If I cry tears and collect enough they will water a tree that will be home to animals then when harvested to make paper will one day wipe the tears that fell.

I hope I'm quoting this one right:

"You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one."

I bought a little book of quotes yesterday, and although I don't like the title "shit happens, so get over it" it does have some very cute thoughts to remind ourselves of when we're going through obstacles...

"Some days you're the bug, and some days you're the windscreen"

"A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour"

"There has been much tragedy in my life, at least half of it actually happened"

"Be comfortable being uncomfortable, it's a small price to pay for living the life you want"

"The harder you fall, the higher you bounce"

Some of them even made me have a little giggle. I now ask myself each morning "am I going to be the bug or the windscreen?"

It's time to let some things go and love life

You can't stop trouble visiting, but there's no need to offer it a chair

We all have ...  in our lives the trick is not to lie down in it

Take yourself gently and forgive yourself often and always

Living peacefully takes practice and sometimes we all slip up

Be brave enough to live the life you really want to live

Be grateful for your individuality

Open your eyes and hearts to new ways

Some people grin and bear it, other people smile and change it

Take whatever path your heart tells you, not your head

The crap that happens in life is only fertilizer for a better future

"For Everything I have lost, I have gained something else."

"I am stronger than I realise, I just forget to believe it sometimes."

"I regret nothing in my life. Even if my past was full of hurt, I still look back and smile, because it made me who I am today."

"Don't give up what you want most for what you want now."

"What others think of me is none of my business."

"Smile, you don't own all the problems in all of the world."

Always be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle.

You can only find out by trying.

Obstacles are there to get around, climb over or scramble through.

It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

It is better to travel alone than with a bad companion.

A problem is a chance for you to do your best.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Don't ask someone to guide your footsteps until you are willing to move your feet.

Be brave, take risks, nothing can substitute experience.

What's meant to be will always find a way.

Be yourself, life is to short to try being someone else.

Thankyou to all the people who have written in this thread. I have just read a lot of it, and felt much encouraged.

I can't really add anything to it at the moment, but I just want to copy some of these affirmations, so I am hoping that is OK??

Here's one self-affirmation I've found to be very effective:

"I love myself and accept myself just the way I am"

When I am being self-critical I repeat it several times to myself and I find it helps.
