Do you have some positive affirmations that have helped you get through difficult moments? If so, share them with us and to add to those listed below...

I will end up doing more than I can imagine.

Everything is as it should be in this moment.

I am just the person I need to be.

I love the ways in which I am like no one else.

I may be 1 in 7 billion, but I am also 1 in 7 billion.

I refuse to give up, because I haven't tried all the possible ways.

I am not in this world to live up to others expectations

A rainy day helps water the plants and fill rural water tanks

Arm pits are great, you get a good grip lifting those that have fallen

I sought help for my problems, pity those 5 fold that are in denial

A pets love is so unconditional. I'll model my attitude on that.

dear Amber, this is a good post especially for those who are having trouble believing that there are good times ahead for them.

Yes a pet's love is unconditional and always there for you.

When you have overcome this feeling of despair and you look back at all those years that have just gone, whether it's 20 years or whatever that have just gone out your life, you now realise it's an enormous chunk that have just vanished, you now appreciate that you can get on with your life, but in a very different way.

You know that being in denial has put you on such a large handicap, meaning that it has stopped you from feeling better much sooner.

  • I am, who I am.

Sea-n-sky

I can I will I shall.

Great one Sea-n-sky.  I love this thread. Word in this form or poetry really hit home for me.

One line I wrote in my poem "society of sand" , the last line in fact is-

"I rise up from the society of sand...to remain the man I am"  the poem was about society being quicksand.

I reckon I've written 5,000 poems and 250 were kept, the others binned. My poems when finished must be right, must hit the mark and make home. Like these phrases- they often hit home and make sense of a jumbled world of emotions.

WOW - White Knight.

A poet indeed ?  - now that is a great talent to have.

I wonder how much depression has influenced the really great poets of the past.

Depression became  their friend and their inspiration, in the end.

I suspect.

Therefore one should never despair.

Cheers,

Sea-n -sky

This is a really good thread!!  I remember my first psych telling me

       - You only have once chance in this life

       - Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think & twice as beautiful as you'd ever imagined

       -  Today I am thankful

       -  Remind yourself that it's okay not to be perfect

Hi everyone, Thanks for your contributions so far. Lets keep them coming...

No matter how full of junk my past is, my future is always spotless

Positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive experiences

I may make mistakes sometimes but I choose to learn from them

Only as high as I reach, can I grow. Only as far as I seek, can I go. Only as deep as I look, can I see. Only as much as I dream, can I be.

My heart is wise, so I choose to follow my heart and not my head today.

My life matters

I am here now

I have a right to my feelings

I am good enough

I am a worthwhile person

I trust my intuitive feelings

I accept anxiety will happen, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming and I can breathe and find inner balance

I choose to forgive myself for the mistakes made and learn from each one

Hi Karen,

These are great. In fact the 2nd to last one is very much the ACT philosophy.

I thought I'd add a few more, I hope you like them.

I do enough, I have enough, I am enough.

Obstacles can only make me stronger.

The first step to making my dreams come true is to dream.

Nothing is impossible, even the word itself says I'm possible.
