Laughter & Smiles 😂

Hello

I just really want to be able to genuinely laugh and genuinely smile. Like something that just bursts out of you. Sometimes I just ache to be able to. I know what it feels like to have that happen. It feels so much better then being gloomy and sad. So freeing.

I am tired of being sad. I want to be able to genuinely laugh and genuinely smile. Is it possible? And does anyone else think anything similar? What makes you laugh and smile?

I do have a few instances in my life that I have just laughed and laughed. Perhaps I will share them.

Has anyone else reading experienced instances like that, I would like to read about them.

Guess I am hoping this thread might be a good place to share laughter and smiles. Anyway just putting it out there...

Here is a situation that I found myself in giggles. We giggled so hard the sides of my body actually pleasantly hurt.

Going back a few years ago I use to visit my sister at her place. I use to drive a tiny blue charade car. So I drove that there. When I was leaving her place, she would walk down with me to my car to see me off. It often took a while to leave. Reason being was the side of the car.

That car was sort of round on the side and shiny. We would see our reflection in the car. It was like one of those weird mirrors. Anyway we would see ourselves with super short legs and a normal body. Then we would move a bit and our shape would change to a big head, long arms. Then we would deliberately walk unusual, like lanky like and we would see an even funnier reflection. It may not seem funny to some reading about that. But at the time it was to us. The giggles were the contagious kind. I remember it feeling so very good.

Really like this....

"A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly; but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around."

— Carolyn Birmingham

Hi there Shell 🙂

What a great idea for a thread topic! I hope there are lots of stories and laughs to be had - we all need this now more than ever. Not sure of any myself - I live alone and so miss out on this. But I do find some comedians on YouTube can sometimes get me laughing.

I get your story of the warped shapes of you and your sister in the car reflection lol - at Christmas time in Adelaide we would have a Christmas pageant and a Magic Cave where as children we would meet Father Christmas and they had these warped mirrors that people of all ages would spend time in front of doing the same thing you describe 🙂

Wonderful quote. I hope you get back some of the sunshine you provide to others and get some smiles of your own 🙂

Thankyou for posting in here Golden. I am glad you are able to laugh at some comedians. I smile at cute animal type videos on YouTube. There was one I saw of a sheep bouncing on a trampoline. It just really looked funny weird to me.

Did you look in the warped mirrors then?

I am not too sure if this thread is a good one or not. I just was remembering how incredibly good it felt to laugh so much. I want to be able to do that again. Guess I am searching for that feeling somewhere.
