Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?
I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.
As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

MY birdbath is well frequented by thirsty birds
My fishpond has nicely cleared up and I can see the fish!!
I smelled the climbing Yasmin
I admired the green ants nest. Useful but sometimes really upset critters
I love the warmth of the sun on my skin
love to wake up to the rays of sunshine playing on the elephant ear outside my bedroom

1....The milk crate I sat on out in my back yard..while I was feeling the sun through my clothes I watched
2...a little orange and brown butterfly flittering around in front of me...
3....the birds I watched as they were fling and landing in the If gum tree and heard their gentle whistling until a flock of cockatoos flew over my head squawking loudly...
4 all this time I had my 2 fur children standing on their back legs with their heads in my lap getting loving pats..
5...I was enjoying a nice hot cuppa tea as well...
It was a very relaxing hour in nature....

Hello everyone...
Today I saw
Across the road from my home..a huge flock of cockatoos...some were sitting on the electric wires..some were upside down...and most were foraging for food..wow were they noisey...
An echidna...crossing the road..my dogs were barking at it..poor little fellow...must have been scared..
The cows 🐄..grazing on the dry brown grass..I watched them from the veranda and let out a mooo...😂..they turned around and just stared at me...I wonder if I can talk cow..and what I said to them...
Brown grass..what’s left of it..it’s mostly all dusty dirt our here now...I wish so much it will rain..
A wasp I was watching building a little nest in a hole in my front veranda columns no bigger then a match stick...
I would love to hear what you saw outside today in nature...
Grandy..🤗..🌱

Hi Grandy, this is a nice thread!
I’ve just arrived at a holiday house I’m lucky enough to visit at times.
1. On the drive up I saw cut up bits of trees at the side of the road here and there - debris from the storm two days ago
2. I arrived to a big pile of very dry brown leaves in the driveway
3. The neighbour’s boundary trees have grown alot since I was last here - lots more privacy
4. The grass out the back isn’t doing so well but you know...drought
5. And finally spotted one of the water dragons that lives here.
🙂

Currently I am sitting outside in the sunshine. There is nature all around me. I will go back and soak it all in after I post here. Some things I have noticed are:
1....I see the large jacaranda tree over the fence. I did notice how green the leaves were. And how much it has grown since the last time I noticed it.
2....I feel the warm of the sunshine on my face, arms and legs. I feel the wind in my hair, and right at that moment felt a fly on my arm.
3...I hear the leaves from the trees moving around with the wind
4...I tasted the water from a drink I just had. It did not have a distinct taste. So I guess a nothing taste
5...I smell... well I do not smell any nature at the moment, but just smelt the faint scent of washing powder on these clothes drying near me.

Hello Shelly and everyone...
I mowed this morning..not relaxing but I did use my 5 senses...
1..I heard the tick, tick of the mower
2..The cut grass had a fresh grassy smell.😂.
3.. I felt the warming sun on me..and the cool wind..
4..I seen too many flies...they were hanging around me.
5..I tasted an icy cold lemon drink I had with me..so refreshing..and well needed...

Just saw this thread, thanks all. Interesting idea.
I saw some Sparrows, Fairywrens and Willy Wagtails as usual hiding in a little bush in our backyard, like a nest, it's so cute. And the usual birds I see on my walk (too many to mention!).
