20 year old female and confused with my sexuality

Hi people

I am a 20 year old female and confused with my sexuality. I have never been in a relationship or dated with anybody. I know that i am attracted to guys but recently i realised that i am attracted to girls as well - but this changes all the time there are time when i dont feel attracted to women but the attraction to men are always constant. I do not know if i am bisexual or just willing to become sexually involved with women. I do not know how can i ever explore my sexuality. I have not told anybody - i have a brother starting to transition and he has some prejudice with bisexuals. I do not know if this right but I dont think I should explain myself or my sexuality to my family as i am still the same person. I am really clueless of what to do 😞

Hi Chinee08, welcome to the forums.

A couple of resources you might find helpful. The first is a beyondblue one, and should be good for your family, and it's called Families Like Mine.

The second is another forum where you'll find people around your own age and is a lot busier than our sexuality and gender identity space. It's called Minus18.

I'm 32 and a bisexual woman who is in a committed long term relationship with a man! Go figure that one out ha ha. Don't feel like you have to define yourself to you or anyone else. You are young and have so much time to figure yourself out. It is perfectly normal to be attracted to both sexes. I had been with men my whole life and then at 30 I decided that I wanted to explore my curiosity with women and ended up having a beautiful 1 year relationship with my girlfriend at the time. 

There are a few ways that you can explore your sexuality, you could try going online and start dating different people? On the Tinder app you can meet men and women, there is an app called 'Brenda' which is just for women which might be a good starting point (if it's still running). 

In regards to people being prejudice about bisexuals, try not to bother with them. Most are ignorant as they have never met a bisexual person and don't understand it. This could be a great opportunity for you to help raise awareness in your own circle of loved ones, though of course only when you are ready.

I'm not sure where you live but there are lots of lesbian/bi nights out etc .

Get out there, have some fun and just love yourself 🙂

I would recommend minus18. I'm not sure if you're in melbourne but I would also recommend Thursgay at Mr Wow's Emporium to meet others and just chat to others who are GLBTIQ. 

Yes there is alot of stigma still around bisexuality, however I want to make it very clear, it is okay to be bi.
