Dear Zeppelin_Floyd1~
First off I'd like to welcome you here to the Forum. I do not know why you posted, except perhaps to have contact wiht others whose lives sadly have great hardship too. Whatever the reason I think it was a wise move.
I have not had CPTSD, only 'simle' PTSD if you would like to call it that , and the accompanying depressing, anxiety, physical reactions and total disruption of life is overwhelming.
I can well remember not feeling safe -even at home, though I don't know if the triggers were the same for me as you.
I would like to know more, if that was alright. Talking in general is ok I guess, however it might be more meaningful, maybe even helpful, if you felt like talking more. No pressure, just if you felt you would like to.
I do hope to hear from you again

Hello Zeppelin_Floyd1,
Welcome to the forums. Sometimes we need to feel like we’re being heard, even when we don’t have the words to explain what we’re going though. I hope you’ll come back here if you need to and would like to talk more.
I too have Complex PTSD and agree it can be a nightmare to live with. I know what you mean about feeling unsafe in your own home. I would say a lot of the time I feel unsafe just being in my own skin. CPTSD makes us so hyper vigilant, finding danger in entirely benign situations. Our bodies react as though something terrible is happening, but it’s so confusing because there’s usually nothing there to make sense of. I get it.
I was wondering if you’re getting any professional help for your CPTSD? There is effective treatment available if it’s something you wanted to do. I’ve found it immensely helpful in decreasing the severity of my ‘body memories’ and I feel much less overwhelmed because I can understand more now what’s happening to me.
Is there anything in your home that you can identify is a real trigger that you could change in some way to feel safer? Is there a small safe and comfortable space that you could create for yourself?
I hope you’re ok. Please let us know if you need more support.
Alexlisa
