OK, this isn't easy for me to write bcas I respect police also but this is my situation.
I aparantly unlawfully entered a friends property, that's right a friends property. He wasn't home and I wasn't believed. Anyhow I was put in a mental institution. I preferred the hospital choice over the police station choice thinking I'll be in there for a couple weeks.
3 months later I came out overmedicated feeling like shite...misdiagnosed with a mental illness as a " safety net" seriously!!!!
3 months of my life where I couldn't work, and live my normal life. Inclosed in a small space, going crazy.
Should I just " suck this up". ?

Hey monkey
AWESOME about joining a gym!
Have you watched "The Call to Courage" - Brene Brown on Netflix yet?
You would get so much inspiration from that special.
I must've watched it 20 times now lol!
Watched it again having a long bath this morning and heard something I didn't quite "get" before, it's one of those shows, much like her books.... I can watch it over and over again lol and I almost know exactly what words she's going to say next lol.
Today I wrote a quote of hers down for the "Quotes I like" thread here. Again lol.
Anyway I told BF about the "air leak in the motor" you mentioned as he knows STACKS about cars, used to build them from scratch etc. Mr Petrol Head lol...
He said and I quote "she needs to get a mechanic to replace the 'intake manifold gasket'".
He said that's the only place he can imagine an "air leak" could happen.
It's nowhere near as serious as a cracked or blown head gasket. Nor as expensive but he also said to get a few quotes lol... the ever considerate money man.
Hope that helps.
Do as you will though!
This was a 3rd hand explanation via an online forum, sight unseen lol.
Though he was very confident that's what it was.

I was able to watch the trailer of " the call to courage" but that's as far as I went. I don't have Netflix but I could always look into getting it. I YouTube everything.
Thankyou for being generous and helping me with my car problem. When the car is on there's a whistle, which is how the problem was detected. I'll be taking it to the mechanic in about a week when I have the money.
Thinking about writing the seller a lengthy message about all the things wrong with the car that I had to fix. And resending his message saying it had no issue at all!

Hey monkey and everyone
Okay, if you don't have Netflix atm, there are other ways to become more familiar with Brene Brown's work.
I understand that the Netflix special came in the MIDDLE of the following 2 Ted Talks... I could be wrong, it could've come AFTER both Ted Talks.
You can stream these for free.
I think "The Power of Vulnerability" came first as a Ted Talk. (c2010?)
then
"Listening to Shame" is the next Ted Talk. (c2014)
There are SO MANY other online clips and conversations of hers to watch.
If I was going to join Netflix primarily to watch the Call to Courage, I wouldn't lol.
I'd buy her first book "Daring Greatly". IT'S PACKED full of amazing stuff.
She has 5 books with dense content (so far) and other side line stuff that could be cute and useful too IDK.
Re: contacting the seller.
Ask yourself what you want to achieve by contacting?
Tbh I think the horse has bolted there and he just may be grinning at your message(s) who knows. Probably.
Maybe not give him the satisfaction?
Remember not ALL ppl are like us. In fact few ppl are.

Joined the gym to only have my back pain flare up and I haven't even had a much needed and wanted workout.
My mum's out still at the club after being there all day playing pokies and it's stressing me out.
Got my blood results back and I'm high in uric acid which can mean gout and low in iron even though I eat a lot of it and the rest all good. I was given hormone tablets to hopefully normalise my period. I've seen a lot of doctors about this. I don't understand why none of them mentioned these tablets uh a yr and a half ago??
I also did a good deed. It was a very long wait to C the doc and a woman was panicking and stressing bcas she needed a doc cert by a certain time otherwise she was getting locked up in jail. Another woman was mouthing off and swearing at her and saying wait your turn just like the rest of us.
My name was called, after waiting over 1 1/2 hrs and I said to her to take my spot.
She was so appreciative and thankful and walked out with her certificate glowing. A new woman lol.
It felt good to help her out.
I know we shouldn't talk about our good deeds but I just had to share.
Em...again...I'll look into what U have so kindly suggested.
With the message to the shonky car seller...it might just make him re- think doing it to someone else...if not...at least I tried.

Dear MM (with a wave to EM)`
Before spending any money can I suggest you investigate your local library on line. I just has a quick look on my state library and found three pages of hits with Brown, Brené author, they were a mix of hard copy and audio and eBook. I can order on line, download and read or listen without payment, and great convenience.
The other place I'd suggest is the Internet Archive
https://archive.org/search.php?query=brene+brown
Which will reveal a fair bit too.
After all you have a car to feed and maintain:) So I think by the time you have looked at some of these you will have picked up some great ideas from Brené, who ranges widely but with wisdom. I really like her stuff, it helps explain as much as introduce new perspective.

That profile pic is amazing.
I'm doing better today. Have come home from a workout at the gym. Was able to do lat pulldowns, shoulder press, side raises, and bicep curls with my back injury.
I can also still swim but am waiting for more cossies to arrive. Last ones were too small.
Next I'm going to try a body combat class and see how I go.
So I rested my back, was patient and today was a success.
Hope you're ok.

Hey monkey!
You Googled back surgery????? omg why? lol.
I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but there are TONS of things that can be done about back issues, which take a LOT of management I grant you, but IMO I'd rather do that than take a gamble on back surgery.
Do you have a specific diagnosed problem with your back?
Moving on, congrats for getting back into the gym!
OH AND WELL DONE for doing such a selfless thing for that lady in the Drs surgery.
I think it's lovely you did that and go you for sharing it lol!
I hear you about the dental issues. The quote I got from the pushy arrogant dentist was around $30k and DO IT NOW!!!
Yeah, nah, I sacked him. That pushiness and "urgency" (in fact he was downright rude) and the fact he was dead WRONG about my Health Fund's refunds made me get out of that surgery.
I have another recommended Dental group to book in now. I BET MY HOUSE it won't be like the other dentist said.
Like I have $30k just in my wallet lol.
He even suggested putting me "under" to do the lot in one go.
What a greedy maniac lol. I'm not in pain, not 6yo, and I want to KNOW what a dentist is doing to my mouth thankyou.
Moving on lol... Great suggestion by Croix about what's available from the Libraries.
I think ANY ONE who's dealing with MHIs and / or has relationships of ANY kind can benefit from Brene's work.
Why did your mum's trip to the Club all day and night freak you out?
Love EM
