Hey matey
i think you should definitely go with your gut and get a second optionion. Nothing wrong with crying at all to be honest I do it all the time but in terms of spacing out definitely get a second opinion and go with your gut! I find crying a stress release for myself and often I feel better but my anxiety is at a all time high and I’m already on medication and i need more help so i will be going to the doctor because my gut tells me to and help take the edge off when I need it so I can function.
sending love

Hell Dear daryl_85,
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums…
I think that setting up an appointment with your Dr and talking to them about how you’re feeling and spacing out crying all the time….is a great step in finding out what’s happening to you…Community health told you , you don’t need your medication…Are they qualified Drs, or psychiatrist?….if not, then if it was me they told that to…I’d be ringing my psychiatrist and/or Dr, for an appointment….while continuing the medication that professionals have prescribed me…
Please do look after yourself,
Thinking of you with kind and caring thoughts..
Grandy..

Hey darly_85,
Welcome to the beyond blue forums and we are so immensely proud of the step you have taken to reach out. It can seem as an easy step for some, but building up the courage to actually talk about the things going on with us can be daunting. Like both Ggrand and Vannnnn have stated, I would say that going with a qualified person, or a doctor is the most viable pathway. Talk to them about the dbt therapy and ask for their thoughts on it.
Spacing out and crying are normal human reactions to when things are not going our way and we are overwhelmed. There is nothing wrong with experiencing emotions, it is just how those emotions affect you and potentially those around you. Take care of yourself and never stop communicating with those that can provide you with the information you need.
Kindly,
yours_truly

It sounds like you are depressed. I cry every day when I'm in a depressive episode. Therapy is great but you also need to find something in the meantime. For me, it's about pushing myself out of bed and getting outside. And then finding dogs. Going to a dog park helps me but you need to find what helps you. I have to break my goal down into tiny goals e.g. get out of bed, turn on shower, put on shoes etc. Managing depression is tough and the mental health system sucks (I can say this with confidence as I work in it) but you have to just push yourself and have hope that the low mood will lessen with the right activity.
