Hi Everyone,
While replying on a different thread, I came up with this idea due to a comment the person made about "wanting it all to go away".
This is a thought I am sure many of us have experienced! It may help if we can express what it is that we want to go away, and than look at ways of dealing with those thoughts, how we can change life to be more beneficial and consider the good things of the day.
I will make a start with my own list of things I'd like to go away:
- waking up in the morning thinking oh bother, here comes another day!
- depression, dizziness, poor concentration, headaches, back ache, neck ache...etc!
- not having employment
- juggling conversations with a husband who may be on the Autism spectrum but declines to be assessed
- the days are heating up...I'm already looking forward to winter!
- feeling like I need to struggle with my thoughts every day
- uncertainty, wanting to run away frequently
I know that if I continue to entertain these thoughts, they will just keep on growing into something even more terrible. I can consider ways of making my life better. Starting with one of these issues at a time.
Okay, now any of you have an opportunity to share.
The next step though is to be thankful for something today despite maybe feeling like the day has been less than average.
Today I am thankful for: the laughter I shared with a lady in the Op Shop today. Who knew that folding plastic bags and chatting could be so much fun!
So what do you want to go away today, how can you help to lessen the impact this issue has on you, and list something good from your day.
Cheers all from Dools

I like your thinking 🙂
I'll give this a go.
Things I want to go away:
- Being sick!! 3 weeks with a chest infection that won't clear 😞
- Waking up feeling sad and tired
- Having no appetite/not enjoying cooking anymore
- Worry over my kitty who threw up today (have booked her into vet on Monday.. but know I will worry till then)
Today I am thankful for: Not having an anxiety attack today. First day in a week 🙂 Might finally be turning it around. Also thankful for the sun today, was nice to go for a walk in the sunshine.

What I want to go away
- Not being able to get over my ex
- Not having the motivation to do anything
- The constant fear of being alone and worthless
- The block that is holding me back from actually getting a job I enjoy and being able to do something of substance with my life.
Today I am thankful for: having a friend that has always listened to my crap and been there for me when she does not have to be.

Hi Vitsyra,
Thanks for joining in. Getting stuff out of my head helps me.
Hope the chest infection does clear, I imagine that reduces your energy and enthusiasm for every day activities.
Make a little note each night about something "nice" you would like to do he next day. For me today it is going for a walk and taking my camera with me.
Hopefully your cat will be okay. Our cat vomits now and then due to fur balls even though we try to groom the fat lazy thing. Do you have some cat grass available if your cat is indoors? Maybe ask the vet about that as well.
Congratulations on no ANXIETY ATTACH for the day. Celebrate that!
Cheers to you from Mrs. D.

Hey Ballza,
Thanks for popping by. Like your lists. Has it helped to be able to have a unhelpful list and a positive one?
Those ruminating thoughts need to be stopped and dealt with don't they! Once our brain is stuck in a rut it can be hard to change the tune. A little like when you get a song stuck in your head and you don't seem to be able to find a different one to hum along to.
I find that over thinking just hurts me brain too much and try to stop myself from doing it when I can.
It is great you can list so many positives!
Hope your day goes a little easier for you today.
Cheers from Mrs. D or Dools

Hi Zimbos,
Don't we all love those friends who hang around regardless of the day we are having! I have met some great ladies in an Op Shop where I volunteer, yesterday I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting.
Trying to get over an ex is not always an easy thing to do is it! I loved a guy from a distance for a very long time. (Before either of us were married we had been friends) Funny thing is when he and his wife came to stay with us years later, I really didn't like his attitude that much.
In my mind I had built him up to the be the most perfect guy a girl could ever want.
Hopefully you may be able to remember the good things about your ex and than not try to find those values in someone else, as no two people are the same.
Saying goodbye to anyone is not easy, finding a way to release them and let them go can be very healing though.
By the way, my comments here are just my own thoughts and feelings. We all deal with stuff differently. I just want to give people an opportunity to off load, than to think of good things in their lives to be thankful for as well.
Cheers all from Mrs. D

What I want to go away right now is
- my unrelenting feeling of being unwell due to the medical withdrawal of medication that was increasing my blood pressure to almost fatal proportions.
To help me conquer these feelings I am about to head out the door for a walk and will take my camera along with me. Yesterday I saw some very closely shorn sheep that were so pink in colour they made me laugh.
I'm hoping they are in the same smallish paddock so I can capture their image on my camera.
So I am thankful that
- I am getting myself our the door right now and will go for a walk!
- Later on I plan to write down some of those thoughts whirring around in my brain and consider if they are helpful or not, and how I can change them to being more helpful or forget them.
- I am thinking of ways I can help myself and will put them into action!
Cheers all. I am off for my walk!

Hi Doolhof
Yeah, those people are the best. I am quite lucky to have four of those people. Unfortunately I don't see them or talk to them as much as I would like, but it's nice to know they are there. Yeah, getting over an ex sucks. Unfortunately I can't think of any bad things about my ex, and the opportunities I missed out on, and yeah...just kind of sucks.
Today what I want to go away
- My work colleague. He is deceitful and manipulative, and is willing to throw anyone under the bus for his own gain
- The pain of being alone. I am currently in my room whilst downstairs there is a whole group of family, and I feel no connection to any of them or anyone.
I am grateful for
- The little kids in my family. They make me smile and are about the only people I want to interact with.
- Good music.

Thanks 🙂 I realised I do the nice thing without meaning to. I try to pick the next thing I'm doing that I enjoy, usually its reading or watching a movie, or seeing friends/family. 🙂
Tonight after work I made a point to play with my kitties in the backyard.
Things I wish would go away:
- Nagging feelings about things... plant needs replacing, a weed that needs pulling, some things I want to throw out..
- Kitty being sick.. though she seems quite happy and playful
- Chest infection! So sick of coughing.. back to the doctors tomorrow to hopefully be cured.
- Constantly having to check on the kitten to make sure she hasn't gone on the roof (Thankfully dad old be putting up a gate to stop her on Sunday).
- Fear of re-triggering my anxiety..
Nice things today:
Playing with my kitties
Lunch with workmates
Warm weather
