Hi there

im young but have suffered with depression for more than 10 years

right now I'm at a stand still were everything is happening and I'm just going along for the ride unwillingly.

i have desicions that need to be made, but I feel so lost, so useless and have no hope.

I have amazing support from those around me, but it just doesn't seem to be enough anymore.

iv seen many councellors and psychologists over the years to the point that I inform the qualified and they don't have much to feed me.

Im not saying there not good, I'm great full for their knowledge but I feel like it's now a broken recored.

i feel iv exhausted my options on therapy.

I know that many things factor into creating a good wellbeing I'm Trying to balance this, but something's lacking

Hello Lightfeathers

Welcome and thankyou for having the courage to post too!

I feel your pain having depression and its not a happy place. The bottom of the rollercoaster of depression can be a lonely and awful place to be

You are strong though as you have enabled a support network of counselors and psychologists which does make you very proactive where you health is concerned.

Ive had chronic anxiety for 13 years followed by clinical depression for 21 years afterwards.

If I may ask you why therapy was becoming non effective for you?

Balancing depression can take a long time...I understand. This is my 21st year on basic low dose AD's which have provided me with a platform on which I can heal more effectively with therapy

There are aslo many gentle people that suffer from depression that can be here for you too Lightfeathers 🙂

The forums are a rock solid safe place for you to post too as you privacy is paramount here

I hope you can post back when you are comfortable doing so

my kind thoughts for you

Paul

Hi Lightfeathers,

Sorry to read what you are currently going through, well done for posting how you are feeling but, it takes a lot of courage to speak about how you feeling so well done for doing that.

I have suffered from anxiety and mild depression for around 10 years as well so I know the feelings of being at a standstill, I was there only a few weeks ago and felt my life was just on one of those hamster wheels that just go round and round.

Do you have any idea's what you think is lacking?

Like blondguy (Paul) said in his very nice reply, why do you feel you have exhausted the therapy options?

Please, post back as much as you like, we are always happy to talk.

My best for you,

Jay

Hi Lightfeathers, sorry to hear about your situation and what you're going through. Sometimes finding the right psychologist takes time, even years. You do have to "shop around" so to speak to find one that you click with. There's this app I really like called Booster Buddy, which I personally have found to be just as wonderful as any psychologist I've seen in the past, I would recommend you download it. Depression is so hard to deal with but I've found getting up, making the bed, trying to formulate a routine, doing one nice thing for myself a day have really helped. Sending you kind wishes.
