Hi ladies,
I am 41 and have many symptoms, sensations... I have recently been diagnosed with Anxiety/ mild depression.... but leading up to this diagnosis I had many symptoms, changes going on. I have just opened this thread in the hope of some advice of any other women out there that may have had similar symptoms/sensations or are able to tell me their stories.
I stopped the pill 11 months ago, since then my monthlys only last 3 days. My breasts are constantly sorer. I get period pains 1-2 weeks before my actual period. I get light headed, palpitations, mood swings, bloated, lower back pain, chest, neck, shoulder pain. I am a mystery... least I feel I am.
I was told by one Dr that I was oestrogen dominant, another Dr told me I wasn't.....
anyway, very confused. I look forward to hearing from any other ladies my age to see if they have similar things going o.

Hi Busybee,
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, you are more than welcome to express how yo are feeling here and to share what ever you need to. I understand not wanting to talk about stuff at home or not having people to listen.
I might tell my husband that my back is excruciating, he will answer "that is no good dear" and walk into his office. I told him there was a hippopotamus in the bath one morning, he said "that is no good dear". Ha. Ha.
Sleeping on my side works best for me, helps relieve the sciatic pain the best with the pillow between the knees as well. If I sleep on my back, I put a pillow under my knees, takes the pressure off the lower back.
Depression doesn't help me with my exercises either. Lately I have been making comments with another lady here about finding MOTIVATION and ENTHUSIASM and how I think they are playing hide and seek with me and most days I have trouble finding them!
With the exercise I try to schedule a time in each day when it will be possible to do the exercises. I'm not saying it always works, at least I have a plan.
Can you look at your daily schedule and see if you can slot in a time for exercises. Even if it is 5 to 10 minutes a day to start with, that will be beneficial. Ones it starts to be a habit, it might stick.
Without going back over the whole post, are you on medications for depression? I noticed on one list of side effects it had a possibility of tinnitus as a side effect. If you go for a Medicare free hearing test would they be able to make suggests for tinnitus I wonder? It may be worth making enquiries on both counts.
There may be many reason as to why you are over due. It could be the beginning of perimenopause (messed up my cycle for a while) I don't want to stress you out at all with this idea, is it possible you are pregnant? You did mention you have stopped the pill. A simple test will soon put your mind at rest with this one.
I certainly don't want to add to your worries and issues. 4 of my girlfriends had babies over 40! If I have spooked you with this, I am sorry, it is just a thought. Like I mentioned a simple test will sort that out for you.
Those positive thoughts aren't always easy to find, when you do find them, you might like to share them here.
Yes, I am doing quite well thanks despite my aches and pains too!
Cheers to you from Mrs. D.

Hi Mrs d
Tonight I am quite 😞
Very tense, as in from anxiety. My ears are ringing so bad atm.
I have a referral to see a hearing mob for tinnitus tests. Is going to be $168.00 I get some back from medicare.
I am def not pregnant. Haven't had sex for almost 1.5 years 😞
No, I aren't on any medicine for depression.
Excercise is getting better. Took my dogs out yesterday. I play with them in yard when I get home from work.
I got my thyroid and hormone blood test results back last Friday. Hormone levels normal and thyroid level normal, but antibodies there. Doc said to have that checked every 3-6 months.
I see the physio this week. Can't wait.
See what I mean... I worry that this is health anxiety. I constantly worry that something is wrong with me, I can't relax, my chest and shoulders hurt from tension. I am so over it.....
Sorry to be negative in this post.
🙂

Hi Busybee,
No need to complain about feeling negative, been there done that...as recent as yesterday and this morning!
Okay, so you are not pregnant, that is one test you don't have to perform! You can save a bit of money there. Have no idea how much a pregnancy test kit costs these days.
Hopefully the hearing test will give you some answers. When you have the ringing in the ears, does listening to soft music help at all?
Sounds like your hormones are okay, not sure what the antibodies mean in your thyroid.
You may well be experiencing health anxiety, I don't know a lot about anxiety, my issues are more stress and depression related.
Have you seen a psychologist or therapist to help you deal with your anxiety?
It must be fun watching the dogs run around the yard when you take them out there. Do they like to chase balls or do they have other favourite toys?
We have a big fat lazy cat that lives inside. She plays for about 10 seconds and then decides that is enough.
Regarding the tension you are feeling in your chest, neck and shoulders, the physio will be able to offer you some stretches for that. You may find some gentle stretches on the internet as well. Even shoulder shrugs and rolling the shoulders helps me.
Once again, don't be concerned about the negativity, we all have it.
Cheers for now from Mrs. D.

Thanks for your reply,
I think I do have health anxiety. Also a pyscologist visit may be a good idea, as I have a lot of sadness, hurt in my past. My chest feels so heavy thinking about a lot of the past. Gee, that felt good typing that.
The Mind spot clinic has a therapist I can contact, but I mostly discuss the course I am doing with him.
Yes, the hearing test and physio is a good start.
Our dogs love the ball. Especially our girl dog. 🙂
The dogs keep me sane.
Hope you had a good day.

Hi Busybee,
Good morning to you and to all who may be reading this also. Today I am going to make us some soup for lunch and try to achieve a few little jobs around the house and garden.
I'm also going to make time to write down how I am feeling and try to work out why I have not been feeling all the best lately. Have you tried writing stuff down Busybee? It might help you to deal with the stuff of your past.
You do know that if you feel comfortable in doing so you can share hassles here. Many of us carry around stuff from the past, or we think we have buried it deep enough for it not to show up ever again. Unfortunately some stuff has a way of seeping to the top when we really don't know how to handle it.
My psychologist has been telling me I need to accept that stuff, recognise it is there and find ways to live with it so I don't compound it. Then I am supposed to be able to move on to a meaningful life.
For me it seems like there is a step missing in that theory, I will give it a go and see what happens.
Hope you have a good day and the weather is nice so you can have a run around with the dogs later.
Cheers for now from Mrs. D.

Thanks for your reply.
I have been so busy, but tired, but taking each day as it comes. I haven't been on here as much in the least week, hopefully that is a good thing.
I am yet to see a psychologist to have a chat to. Taken me years to do it, but think it will be a good idea.
Had the best days out with the dogs last weekend. I take them with me on my bike. I have a trailer I strap them into. We can ride a fair way away, then I let them out to walk, run, swim.. then ride them home again. Lol. We all have a ball.
Hope all is well in your world.
🙂

Hi Busybee,
This morning I went to the Dr. He is going to try me on a hormone patch to see if that helps with some of my aches and pains he thinks may be related to menopause as there doesn't seem to be any other reason for them to exist.
Oh, the joys of being a female. Ha. Ha.
Your bike trips with the dogs sounds great. I enjoy watching clips of dogs skating, surfing, skiing and do all kinds of things. I just watched a clip of a dog sitting in front of some cows. Three cows were licking the dog and slobbering on its ears. The dog looked like it was loving the attention.
All the best with your psychology appointment when it happens.
People do come and o here on the forum, we all do what feels right for us. Some of us stick around for ages!
Cheers to you from Mrs. D.

Hoping you had luck with the patches. Being a woman can be quite frustrating lol
I have just been plodding along, no new changes. If anything, I have felt a bit better of late. Was quite sick though for a cpl of weeks with the flu, but other than that, not bad.
I haven't been to a psychologist, decided to let that go for now, but am doing other things for myself which I think may help.
Hope all well for all you ladies.

Hi Busybee,
I haven't been on this forum for a while with much consistency. The aches and pains have been a bit overwhelming.
Hopefully you are doing well finding ways to make your life more as you want to live it. You know you can share issues here if that helps you. Fellow members have some wonderful insights and knowledge.
The hormone patches have helped with my memory and cognition. I saw the Dr recently and asked if the patches could "regrow" brain cells as I have felt that since I hit this menopause stage half my brain cells seemed to have up and ran away or died. The Dr had a laugh and said that was normal for some women.
I pushed him more about my leg pain on the right side which ended in me having a hip x-ray, ultrasound and a cortisone injection to help ease the hamstring/bursitis pain. Now for the other leg with different symptoms and the ongoing back issues! Ha. Ha.
Sorry to read you had the flu, quite horrible isn't it!
Today I am going to crochet, read, do some jigsaw puzzle and lie in front of the heater to warm all my aching bits up. I have a couple of busy days ahead of me with appointments here there and everywhere, so a rest day is in order.
Cheers to you, hope you find many pleasurable moments in your day!

Hi Busybee,
Just had another thought. A male friend asked me recently why it is called MENopause, I told him it was because some of us women go through hell at this time, so a man's life is put on pause while we try to cope or go totally insane.
