Hi just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the new jobseeker rules which came into effect July 1 2022 ?
I have had a medical certificate exemption for the last 9 months due to the effects of long standing anxiety and grief and I am due to enter the fray again in August. I am in my 60βs and also suffer from IBS and arthritis in hands, feet and knees, so generally life is painful and difficult π
Anyone know what I can expect?
Thanks π

Hi, I'm in my 50s and also on Jobseeker. I have rheumatoid arthritis, severe depression and mild agoraphobia. My Job Provider is specifically for those of us who experience issues with certain workplaces and environments. While the new online stuff is different and awkward, it holds basically the same information. My understanding is that if you have been required to work less than fulltime due to medical concerns and have a Medical Certificate that states your condition, them you are exempt from the new points system. You do still need to apply for the number of jobs as required by your Job Plan though. The best information I have received is through the Unemployed Workers Union. Give them a call and they can help with any questions.
Please take care of yourself and don't stress too much - it's really just more of the same.
