Like many people, I have struggled through my life with depression.
I have found that recently my depression has been increasing due to various reasons, feelings of worthlessness, diminished the ability to think, concentrate and to make constructive comments back to those who are asking for help.
I am proud of the support I have provided to people in my 15 years on the forums although some advice isn't accepted,
I know others, as well as myself, have had a relapse with their depression and how it has affected them, to know that one simple trigger to anything could cause this to happen.
Has your depression become worse through personal or
Any support you can provide me during this difficult time would be really appreciated.
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
It is lovely seeing you pop up all over the place on the forum. I guess in a way it is difficult to let go of something you have been so involved in for such a long time.
There is such a wonderful sense of caring and community here. We never know how many lives we have touched by the words and sentiments we have shared.
Hope you are feeling more peace in your heart and soul Geoff.
Cheers to you from Dools

Dear Geoff~
I'm delighted to see that you are still around and giving your support to so many, I was worried when you stepped down that you might disappear, so like Mrs Dools says I'm very glad to still have you around.
Cheers

G’day Geoff,
While I don’t have the perfect words to say, and you’ve probably heard almost if not all the advice on offer. It appears there are a lot of members here that are very willing to extend a hand to a comrade going through a tough time.
While ive only been a member for a couple days, you have already extended your hand to me, thanks for your help mate.

It's lovely to know that appreciation and acknowledgement is recognised by so many people.
Sometimes we all make mistakes, that's not our fault, it's lack of judgement, but each time we learn and grow from each occasion and that's important and what teaches us our experience.
Each time may vary, so we have to decide on what to do and then say back to them.
I'm still remaining, for me, there's much to be done.
My kindest regards to everyone and deepest thoughts for you all. Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
Mate, I'm so stoked to note all the awesome responses you've received ... and rightfully so. You've been the absolute ROCK in these forums for so many years now. The amount of people you've helped, given advice to and I will say, people that you've helped "stay alive" would astounding. The number would be huge.
We've been mates for a long time as well, and it's never good to hear of a mate who's doing it tough. It's never good hearing of anyone doing it tough, but it just has a bit more bite to it, when it's someone you know.
I'm very pleased to read that since you're initial post in this thread, you are feeling a bit better. I hope that can continue.
Also, to answer your initial question, I believe 100% that things can affect our mental stability, be it, from personal circumstance, in the workplace or even something you may see on social media, TV, hell, even a movie.
Cheers,
Neil

Hi Neil, I am just so pleased to see you back on the forum, and what you have said has made my day.
I really can't thank you enough, and yes, we have known each other for such a long time, through thick and thin and through ups and downs for so many years.
I totally agree with you, there are so many factors which can affect how we are thinking and then change our thoughts which can cause depression. Geoff.

Hello Geoff
Good to see you posting all over the forum. Thank you for continuing to make the lives of others just that bit easier and bearably.
Neil has it right, so many factors go to make our MH good or not so good. We definitely need to attend to our own well-being. You know where to go when things get tough.
