Hello pasificaalice, many people who have this illness feel exactly the same due to the course it takes over weeks, months or even years, for me it was years, but coming out the other side, I know it's a struggle for those affected because to them, nothing seems to go right.
Thi may happen because any changes might be difficult to cope with, or what someone says to you may seem to be intimidating, but only while you feel this way.
Your friends may have upset you by comments they've made or could have left you on your own without any support and that's definitely very upsetting, but you have to remember that how you feel now won't be the same after you have healed.

Hi pasificaalicelane
You know when people are doing life the right way based on their ability to show you your true value. While I've faced a number of periods in depression over the years, one thing I often asked myself was 'What am I doing wrong?', while failing to acknowledge another incredibly important question at times 'What's wrong with the people who are failing to lead me to see my true value in this world, while leading me to better understand myself on a whole new level?'. It's not about blame, simply about asking questions.
There is great value in your questions, great value in your ability to feel so deeply, great value in your presence and in your desire for change and growth. All depressing lies can be felt on such a soulful level. One of those is 'I am worthless'. While the truth may be hard to believe in sometimes, the truth still remains...you are more valuable that what you have been led to imagine. Good leaders will always lead you to believe in the absolute truth.
