Hoping that writing it down will help

Hi, first time poster. I run my own small business and have been told that I have a form of Bipolar called Cychlothymia (probably not spelt right). Ultimately it means I have highs and lows. The lows have become more frequent and last longer. I have no energy and just want to sleep all the time, I can't remember things and have trouble conducting conversations. When I do sleep, I have very vivid anxiety driven dreams and wake up feeling like I have had no rest. A lot of mornings, the idea of getting out of bed and going to work makes me feel sick and makes my heart race. When I am at work I have trouble making decisions, all of which increases my anxiety and spirals me deeper as I feel like I am not achieving anything. I am on medication but it doesn't seem to do anything, but I have an appt with a psychiatrist next week to review the medication. I know that medication is not the only answer but I see a psychologist, which has been good but in my low lows I struggle to access the tools she has taught me. If anyone has any suggestions, I welcome them, I also thought that just writing it all down might help.

Hi downblue

when I was in the pits...and like literally at wits end ..hot yoga helped me tremendously . To this day I still love it .its just this one hour where everything is just peaceful . I would highly recommend it ..or u can try any link on internet for yoga .

and continue seeing your Pyschologist ..

i remember someone saying to me back then ...”this too shall pass “ .and that helped tremendously ...

i know you mentioned u want to sleep all the time ...and I was the same . My thoughts would wonder everywhere too ...but all I started to do was think...hot yoga ...it gave me focus ...after hot yoga ...I was actually able to function well . Somehow it centred me ..it’s hard to explain ..but you have to try it .

i hope this helps you

also I used sleep meditation videos by Jason Stephenson ..call peace ..type those words in internet ..he is awesome . I was able to get some much required sleep .

These are what helped me..and I hope it helps you too

i saw my Pyschologist too and boy did I have loads to get off my chest ...they are awesome and can usually point you in the right direction to cope and manage your symptoms .

keep smiling and Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Hi Downblue,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for writing your first post.

Isajett has written a helpful reply.

I have lived with bipolar for over 40 years and know what you are talking about.

Have you tried writing down when you have moods and how you feel . This can be helpful to see a pattern.

There is a thread this bipolar life which you are welcome to browse and join in. It is a place where you can chat to others who understand.

Sometimes you have to try quite a few different things to find something that works.

Thanks again

You are not alone and there are supportive people who care here.
