What Do You Collect/Whats Your Hobbies?

Most people have some sort of hobby. The enjoyment and satisfaction of a hobby is a great way to be at peace.

Who remembers the old K-Tel records of the 60s and 70s? Who's still got them? Yep,I kept mine. Mind you I started collecting the 70s compilation hits albums like Whopper,Ripper,Ripper 76,Explosive Hits 75,Bobby Dazzler,Unreal, etc. Got a great collection too.Even bought the 45s and those box sets of albums like Readers Digest, etc.

As for books I like collecting books. Usually on my favourate cars. I have a lot of self help books. I like things from the past like old toys just like the ones I had as a child. Nothing like brightening your day by looking at old toys taking your back to your childhood.

Over to you: What do you collect/whats your hobbies?

I make terrariums.  the owner of a coffee shop I go to saw them and asked me to put in his shop before Christmas and sell them.  then I was invited by the local traders association to sell them at a Christmas market.  I made about 50 of them and then the market was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.  I was so disappointed however have two markets coming up before easter. they look so beautiful and fresh, I love looking for interesting glassware/vessels and plants.

Wow! Everyone has some interesting collections and hobbies! I collect cuddly toys, disney infinity characters and various ornaments, my house is kinda cluttered but thats how i like it.

I tend to dabble in hobbies at the moment it's container gardening (very interested in can't  move forwards terrariums) and photography, but who knows what it'll be next week!

binge watching netflix

I'm not sure you would call it a hobby, more an interest or a past time:  lately I have been enjoying colouring in. I am hoping to be enthusiastic enough to return to painting pictures.

I was watching an art show on t.v. the other night  that showed about 8 different styles of painting the same landscape. I think I will try hard to get my paints out tomorrow!

I collect elephants - figurines, pictures, key rings etc etc.

I like to sew & crochet. I can knit but I'm very slow. I love to read & also love my iPad.

Hi Yellownanna,

Thanks for sharing.

I like to knit as well but do it very poorly! I usually end up with a lot of holes and dropped stitches. I don't know how to retrieve the stitches, so I generally pull my knitting apart and have to start again!

My crocheting is not all the best now either. For some reason my Granny squares have a lean to them! I think I might be crocheting too tightly and pulling it all one way.

My quilting has gathers in it too! Ha. Ha. I do enjoy my crafts even if I am not so good at them!

Cheers from Mrs. Dools

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hi Blondeguy and Everyone else,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

On the weekend I went to a friend's home. She collects dinner sets and crockery. She has a small mountain of decorative plates she uses for Devonshire teas when she has an open garden.

Another friend told me she now has over 600 bits and pieces relating to cats! I wouldn't like to dust that lot!

Today I spent a bit of time in the garden. I did enjoy it, but I am not sure if you would call it a hobby or a necessity! Ha. Ha.

Very interesting to read what everyone else is into! I might be a bit late to join but I wanted to say I thought that was a great topic idea and share my own interests anyway...

I love reading - mostly psychology books and journal articles (I keep a log of references for the ones I've got or read), but also 'fun books', usually history, historical crime fiction and historical fiction. (usually with some kind of 'brain' theme of course!)

I also collect superhot chillies which I've either bought young or grown from seed. The hotter the better! I have a few hundred of them, from 0-4 years old. (There's one called Naga Brain too... which of course I had to have)

Stuffed toys. They are always up for cuddles and seldom have personality disorders... Haven't found a stuffed brain yet 😞
