Most people have some sort of hobby. The enjoyment and satisfaction of a hobby is a great way to be at peace.
Who remembers the old K-Tel records of the 60s and 70s? Who's still got them? Yep,I kept mine. Mind you I started collecting the 70s compilation hits albums like Whopper,Ripper,Ripper 76,Explosive Hits 75,Bobby Dazzler,Unreal, etc. Got a great collection too.Even bought the 45s and those box sets of albums like Readers Digest, etc.
As for books I like collecting books. Usually on my favourate cars. I have a lot of self help books. I like things from the past like old toys just like the ones I had as a child. Nothing like brightening your day by looking at old toys taking your back to your childhood.
Over to you: What do you collect/whats your hobbies?

Wilbur Smith books.
My husband used to collect them, then I came on board and have topped up his collection.
We have every Wilbur Smith book ever published, and all First Editions.
I love to read, but havent done much lately. I have read most of the Wilbur Smith books, but not the latest few.

Hi Everyone,
It is interesting to have a read of some of these threads. People do collect and enjoy so many different things.
Now the weather is cooler, I hope to start crocheting again.
I heard of people making quilts for people in the Armed forces. I thought that was a lovely idea.
Cheers all from Mrs. Dools

Wow! It's great to read some great hobbies that I would never have really thought of.
I definitely have found it hard at times to commit to a hobby. Either from Depression keeping me unmotivated or simply feeling alone with no one to share my hobbies with. A lot of my friends arent interested in the things I like.
Personally I love to exercise so that is a great hobby of mine but lately I have really enjoyed trying out new coastal walks where I get to experience nature at the same time as getting exercise. I also enjoy trying new cafes or small restaurants. I always like helping a local business out. It makes me feel like I am giving something back rather than going to bigger chains of restaurants.
I think I might try a few new things after reading this 🙂

Hiya Ellie! 😀
So, I finally succumbed to the colouring-in craze today. I've looked at the books before but the pictures all seemed to be mandalas and Eastern spiritualism type patterns, which I know many people find helpful, in a mindfulnessy type way, but they're just not my thing.
Today I found my kind of colouring book - it's about Paris and Parisan life, so it's all pictures of clothes and shoes and handbags and cakes and ice creams and perfumes, oh and Paris buildings and streetscapes too. But, I mean, a colouring book with shoes and hats and shoes and stuff! YEAH!
Favourite new hobby.

I read biographies, sew a bit (I'm currently making a top), run an Instagram account...but mostly I write fan fiction featuring my favourite bands.
I love letting my imagination explore different scenarios. There is usually a romance element to them, of course, but I have been known to write about death, sexual assault, alcoholism and other dark subject matter, depending on my state of mind.
