I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times. Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books, relationship books, etc. There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills. As a guy I also love the guy stuff, cars, hobbies, interests, man cave, etc.
What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?
Thanks.

Hello Fallen Angel! You are only the 2nd person who I've come across who has read Hermann Hesse! The first person was the one who introduced me to his books. In my 30s I read Siddhartha, Damien, The Journey to the East, Knulp, Steppenwolf. I've tried to wade through The Glass Bead Game, but unfortunately I've abandoned it.
Have you read "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankl? This is one of my all time favourite books. Another author whose books I've found a soothing balm to the soul is Joel S. Goldsmith- "The Thunder of Silence", "Beyond Words and Thoughts". If you're looking for something new to read consider these. Take care, Chartres

A History of the world in a 100 objects by Neil Macgregor
Fascinating book one can dip in and read about one object at a time and it’s historical significance,

The Boys is on Amazon Prime Video - I know because it's my favorite show on that network 🙂 I've only read a little of the graphic novels, but have to admit they did a great TV adaptation. Speaking of Prime, they have made some of my favorite books into good TV shows - American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Good Omens by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett come to mind.
I was reading the Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead (again another show that was just released on Prime) but it's a bit heavy and I'm looking for something lighthearted now. Any fun graphic novels to recommend?

Hi Quirky, Happy to recommend, do u have any general topics u enjoy? Self help, psychology, culture/arts, memoir biography?
Have you read any of Irvin Yalom's work on therapy? Interesting. There's that Lori Gottlieb book with the yellow cover, also on topic of therapy. My friend enjoyed it.
I'm currently reading The Reader by Bernard Schlink and I like his style of writing but that is fiction.
I had this novel by AM homes. Reading the reviews for it has put a pause on that for me now.
I like Rachel Cusk NF, she has some really interesting travel and lifestyle books inlcluding on motherhood, divorce, and one semi-nf ( i don't know if its true - her books are very boundary-breaking in the way they enter and leave reality) about her traveling to Italy. That was was a real fave!
I don't read veyr much non fiction , but there are some Aussie memoirs that I think are great, the authors are Kate Holden, Liam Pieper, Rosie Waterland, Corey White.
I'd love to hear your recommendations Quirky, fiction or non fiction, for your current enjoyable or recent reads 🙂

Hi all
I just finished Voss by Patrick White. It had been on my list for years but for some reason I just never got there.
A wonderful love story, rich in Australian history and cultural insight.
Kind thoughts to all
