I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times. Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books, relationship books, etc. There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills. As a guy I also love the guy stuff, cars, hobbies, interests, man cave, etc.
What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?
Thanks.

Blood, Sweat, Pixels
An inside look at how some of the biggest games in the world are made, and how game development can be one of the hardest things to do in the world. A must read for any fans of gaming

Decided to throw some self help reading into the mix.
Living With IT by Bev Aisbett is short and sweet, with illustrations, for easy reading tips to overcome panic and anxiety. I found it great and will be purchasing a copy to keep.
I've just ordered Brene Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection. Has been on my list for a while 🙂

For anyone who is interested; Into the Wild: The Magic Bus, Fairbanks bus 142 the one that Chris McCandless slept in before he finally passes away. The local council airlifted it away because too many people were trying to get to it. And a some of them died. I am currently watching a lot of videos about people visiting the Magic Bus before it was airlifted away.
My god, I was homeless for four months. I literally pitched a tent in the woods. The first two weeks were terrifying but after that I was fine. I remember how much I really enjoyed that experience. A part of me wants to go back out there. Dear Alex Supertramp, I think your story and my experience of sleeping in the forest will haunt me for the rest of my life.

So, the libraries are open again, and I have used my library card to borrow a lot of graphic novels. I especially don't mind Garth Ennis's The Boys, was recently made into an online tv series. Can't remember which network. Maybe netflix. It's a about a bunch of supposed super heroes who are actually just corporate prop pieces, dressed up to sell merchandise and distract the public from real issues going on. Secretly they are absolute superficial pigs behind the scenes. The Boys are a bunch of disaffected super powered SAS types that are about to blow the whole charade wide open.
Also got a whole heap of batman comics written by scott snyder, (He wrote American Vampire, I think he also wrote "30 days of night" hang on or was that Steve Niles?, Yeah I think it was Steve Niles), Anyway Court of Owls was one of my favourite story arcs

I've never read a graphic novel. That sounds like something my son might enjoy, I'll have to ask him if he's tried reading any. He's quite into anime and gaming, so might be something he'd like.
I'm reading The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van der Kolk, which I saw recommended on the forums. It's interesting thus far. I'm also reading Brene Brown's Gifts of Imperfection, which resonates but I'm not finding anything new in there so far. Wish I could read faster! I've got so many books on my to be read, and want to get through them before uni starts.

Graphic novel recommendations; start with Neil Gaiman; The Sandman series would be your best start. Then move onto "Death, the high cost of living" This book actually won an Eisner literary award (Which made the judges royally pi##ed by the way)
Then you can move onto Alan Moore's back catalogue, Watchmen, V for Vendetta(no trust me don't judge the book by how crap the movie was),The Killing Joke,
All of them classics. Although don't read his new stuff. It's just a poor imitation of the talent he once had. Alan Moore is a Rasputin impersonator and an actually wizard black magic auctioneer now. It really is quite sad.

I have three piles of books in my room under all the mess, I think I have a clive cussler book laying in there somewhere.
As for thrillers, I am more of a Robert Ludlum, and Gerald Seymour fan myself. I quite enjoy the Jack Reacher novels. And I have read some stuff by Stephen Leather
