What Book/Books Are You Reading?

I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times.Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books,relationship books,etc.There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills.As a guy I also love the guy stuff,cars,hobbies,interests,man cave,etc.

What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?

It’s funny you mention it, as that was the first TV adaptation of the Roswell High series, and is precisely what I watched prior to reading the novels. The funny thing is that I tend to relate to the core “alien” characters (Max, Isabel and Michael) in each adaptation more than any of the human characters, but I resonate more strongly with certain characters in different ways depending on version (Max and Alex in all three; the “fourth alien” and Liz in the books; Michael and Kyle in the first adaptation; and Isobel and Maria in the recent adaptation).

Then again, I always align with good-natured, ambiguously human characters, so... 😅

HI there NobleAlarc I looked it up and they now have another version of the show - and the girl who played Liz in the first one is involved as a director. Love that actress in general.

I love that you can relate and find yoursel fin the story...although I don't read much sci-fi, I watch "lite" sci-fi on occasion and it's interesting

The Roswell series sounds really cool and seems to be developing and growing over time with new represntations and adaptations.
So cool and i'm sure others here would be familiar. Thanks for not making me feel ancient as you do know the original show!

I didn't watch it at the time but it was very popular (along with Buffy Vampire Slayer, and Smallville)

Sadly I was a bit basic and just watched shows like Dawson's Creek, Gossip Girl, the O.C.

Sleepy and Moon

Nora Ephron had 2 sons, Jacob and Max. Their father was Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame and played by Dustin Hoffman in All the Presidents Men.

Jacob made the documentary but Max wasn’t in it as his father didn’t want to be in it.

Nora’s mother who was a writer used to say Everything is copy, hence the title of the documentary.

I read that quote when i was 32. Lol. She was pretty adamant that we all need to get out there in a bikini.

just search audiobooks on youtube, there's plenty of them. Even ones that are copyrighted and aren't supposed to be on youtube. So far the most memorable ones I have listened to are: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chobsky, and also "Into the wild" by Jothan Kruakaw (I probably got both authors last names wrong, you will just have to google them). Although I suggest you see the movie of Into the wild first before you listen to the book, otherwise you will be sadly disappointed. I have also read "13 reasons why"(was recently turned into a netflix series) by Jay Asher, online (there might be an audio book of it), I was trying to find something like The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

If you are into realistic survival type stories Gary Paulsen is a really good author. Think Hatchet and Hatchet Winter. I read a lot of his stuff when I was still in high school. I have seen audio books of his on youtube. If you are more into young adult psychological thrillers, Robert Corrimier (yeah I probably spelled his last name wrong too) is pretty good. His pretty old so he would probably be youtube in audiobook form. Hope that helps.

Does anyone remember an author called Alex Garland? I borrowed one of his books-The Beach-from the library when I was younger it was like over thousand pages and barely lasted me 4 days. I binged through it, it was that good. Yes, before anyone points it out: it was made into a movie. Which was bloody awful by the way.

His writing style carries the book through mostly. Fun fact; Alex Garland has recently branched out into writing movie scripts. He wrote the script for the latest Judge Dread movie. (no not the one with Syslvester Stallone)

for anyone who is interested; I have finished, the lawerence block book and am now reading a fantasy novel. I am reading Ship of Destiny, the liveship traders book 3, by robin hobb. I am about on page 65 it is pretty good so far. I actually think it is better then the Assassins trilogy that she wrote. I think I also have the tawny man floating around in the mess that is my room.
