Hello everyone! 😄

I don't know if anyone has made this yet, but I wanted to make a thread about TV shows. I know I'm obsessed with them and they help me bring me out of depression so I thought, how about everyone else? Well I'm going to get started and name my top TV shows which are:

1. Doctor Who

2.Supernatural

3.Sherlock

4.Orange is the New Black

5.Once upon a Time

And plenty more! So just put down you favourite TV shows down and we can talk... yea.... 😄

Sorry I've completely forgotten about this thread. So to answer your question, Humans is really good, you should check it out sometime! Just has a different spin to the usual sci fi genre. AHS - Love that series, and have to agree - Asylum was the best! I couldn't get into Freak show either. But it picked up again with Hotel - had lady gaga and she was brilliant in it. Just watched half of the latest - Roanoke - just doesn't cut the mustard for me lol. I think they've run out of ideas. I'm hanging out for the latest Star Wars - gonna wait til my family arrive so we can see it as a group. Should be fun. Maybe a few popcorn throwing contests etc. lol. Do you remember The Stand? Used to Love Stephen King movies. He's got that creepy look about him too lol. Can you believe he's actually 69? Man I'm startin to feel old lol

Hi. Sorry ive got no profile pic.it wont allow me...i like American horror story.its great acting. Also i just saw the dvd Suicide squad. Loved it. Maxwell.

I'm with you Panther...I am a big Miss Marple fan (Poirot OK too, but Marple is my fave). Several actresses have played her...I prefer Joan Hickson and Elspeth McKenzie.......don't like Geraldine McKewen's portrayal of her at all. Some big names do pop up from time to time in the supporting cast of characters too.

Can't stand US comedy...they cant do comedy that is why. Not a patch on the British (neither are we actually). BUT having said that, I did adore Seinfeld.....practically the only US show that worked for me.....love it!! My then teenage son was living with me at the time so I was forced to be introduced to it too....am glad I was! Brilliant!

Oh Carol.....wasn't Darling Buds of May enchanting? Long before Catherine Zeta Jones became famous....no one had heard of her in those days...and the actress who played Ma Larkin went onto Call the Midwife (Sr Evangelina) and Rosemary & Thyme lady detective show. the guy who played Mariette's husband, the tax collector, went onto be a cop on Heartbeat...........yes I am full of show business trivia.....(wonder why?)

Colin Firth is Colin Firth.....sigh....enough said!

Agree with you Rufio regardingSeinfeld loved it....no soup for you.

Will proudly admit I'm a home n away fan, sometimes you need mindless TV to enable one to switch off.

Am also a fan of SUV and Criminal minds.

I have a really bad habit of returning to shows rather than seeking new ones. Like with music or anything else - I don't fall in love with things easily but when I do - I get obsessed with it and hold it very close to my heart.

Some of my favourite shows over the recent years have been comedies. Community, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, the Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn Nine Nine. I also rekindled my love for Doctor Who (I recently met the cast at a convention and they are inspirational, warm and were very kind). Despite the internet memes, Rick and Morty is a clever and very human show despite the zaniness, and Bojack Horseman really knows how to pack an emotional punch with each episode after the first few introductory ones. Archer is crude, animated throwback fun.

As for newer ones; I really love the silliness of Angie Tribeca and the philosophical fun of The Good Place. I also love Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and I'm sad that this season is the final one. Lady Dynamite (cancelled, but had two brilliant seasons) is absolutely whimsical but heartfelt; and touches on a bit about dealing with mental illness.

More serious things, I really loved Broadchurch. Came onto it by accident and was hooked by the first episode. Black Mirror is really great for some strong discussion points about technology, sci-fi and humanity.

Not sure if this is also the place for Japanese animation - but I really love anime from way back like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Evangelion. The most recent one I watched (by accident on Netflix) that I really fell in love with was one called Kids on the Slope about two students that bring jazz to life at their town.
