The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Grandy, fresh cream doesn't quite like me either. Perks of lactose intolerance. Fortunately, I have a fairly mild intolerance, so I usually just eat it anyway, which sounds terrible.

Toasted marshmallows, anyone? Let me make everyone some smores, I'll bring some chocolate, crackers, and whatever else everyone feels like you need in a good smore.

'Smore'? Is that short for smorgasbord?

Never mind, I think I'd like a longer kind, so I can have more fish, cheese, custard, popcorn & crispy mice tails, please.

Have had lovely couple of hours out with a friend walking through a local plant nursery including their permanent decorative garden.  Walking along one path we heard some noises overhead. Above us and all around us in tops of trees were hundreds and hundreds of bats, their wings wrapped around themselves whilst the strong wind blew the branches of the trees in all directions. So relaxing walking along the paths between large trees, succulents and other plants.  Fingers crossed I get solid night sleep tonight

Hello everyone ,

Your day sounds peaceful Patches, I used to walk around nurseries years ago with my children, just for a day out when we were stuck at home with no money, you brought back some nice memories that were hidden away…thank you so much💙..

Out my way, bats destroy a lot of crops, which is sad..but only nature I suppose..I mean the bats need to eat…and they’ll go where theirs a good source, they don’t know or understand the damage they do….

It was a beautiful day here today..Spring weather 22 deg…a great day for a bbq…unfortunately in real life I don’t bbq unless someone is with me…but in my imagination I can and ….I cooked some pork belly strips and really crackled up the rind, also I did some large mushrooms and put cheese in them…some bacon, onions, capsicum, zucchini and onions….plenty for anyone who wants to come into the cafe….maybe after we can all jump into the cafes steam train 🚂 and go on a stargazing trip…

Love to you all with my care and hugs..💕🦋🤗.

Grandy..

Hi Grandy, Patches & everyone.

Those bats sound like fruit bats, Patches, so I think you have nothing to worry about.

Grandy, I like to BBQ too, with someone helping ... I like the simple sausage sizzle, with fried onion rings, toasting the buns as well & just a little BBQ sauce.

Today was pretty good here too, one degree higher than you! That seems amazing given how many kilometres we are apart, & the weather I know you have had.

I bought some new warm fuzzy/fluffy long pj pants, a light lemon yellow, but so warm [ I with I'd found them at the beginning of winter. They will be very welcome when the weather gets very cold again, & will go well with my fuzzy/fluffy rainbow hoodie.

I also found some new ankle weights, with a couple solid bars which I can remove for now, & re-insert later, when I am feeling more strength in my legs. I'll wear them around my flat, for an hour or two at a time, maybe do some leg lifts, as well, like what I do at the gym.

Today, I'd like to ride atop the steam train & fly my kite high above as we choo-choo  along.

Hugzies

mmMekitty, I also think they are fruit bats.  Was amazing just standing looking up into the tree tops at them hanging on the branches, the trust they had the regardless how strong the breeze was they were safe due to the strength of the tree.  One small clump of branches we counted 30 bats happily sleeping.  Was impossible to count them all but could easily have been 1000.

quiet relaxing Saturday. Drop some items off at local house detox collection centre prior to going ‘window shopping’ at plants in a local store.  Had no intention of buying anything, just like looking at the plants and walking around amongst them.  Took some photos as ideas for friend who is in midst of deciding what to plant into garden beds following removal of old plants. Afternoon been spent enjoying the sunshine with SB and Luna curled on my knees

I lived in a town once  that had so many noisy bats thst people were getting very stressed to the extent it affected their mental health. They are protected but if you have lived near them it is very difficult.

Hi everyone,

Happily, I had a good gym workout then lunch like a sausage sizzle at home, watching some Jeopardy & some Garma Festival & a discussion show after, then having a snooze, which means I can have a little chat tonight.

Hearing the occasional fruit bat overhead at night is one thing, but bo, I don't think I'd cope well with a large coloney of them nearby.

Tonigh,t I have some rice, like fried rice, (only I don't think mine really tastes like real fried rice) with carrot, peas, corn & scrambled egg. I've mde lots so please, have some. If you want to put some salty soy sauce, go ahead; I won't stop you. [LRC grins]. If I hadn't had the sausages earlier, I might have included some salmon. Maybe next time.

Hugzies for you all,

mmMekitty

Was lovely warm sunny lazy Sunday morning …. has now gotten overcast and getting cool at home.  So much nicer here in the BB cafe, Luna and SB both happily stretched out in the sun watching the doves moving around at the edge of the garden beds.

mmmm hot chocolate, love the smell plus will finish warming up my hands.

I’ve bought my knitting, currently knitting little jumpers for young rescued lambs that I read about through online group I knit for, when my arthritic fingers let me.

nice comfy cushion behind me and I’m all set for couple hours on the couch.  Now to decide what to listen to ….. music by Manhattan Swing Orchester, sounds interesting
