The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

That's lovely, Patches. I like the idea of a wall of pet pictures, & the perpetual teddy bear calendar, & the ceramic cocker spanniels ... we had a beautiful cocker spanniel when I was young. She could go quietly into my room & sleep under the bed, but I could smell her, summery healthy soil smell & know she was there. We kids would let the dogs on the beds, but parents didn't like us doing that. When we could, tough, we would. To us they were family (sometimes more family than the humans were) so we didn't see anything wrong with that.

MmMekitty, I got the idea of pet wall pictures from lady I know who is foster carer of pregnant cats and kittens. Her and her hubby have been foster carers for quite a few years, last time I saw it 2 walls of her foster carer room, which is actually double car garage, we’re almost completely covered by A5 size photo of every cat and kitten they have ever fostered. I don’t have photos of either of the 2 cats I have fostered but have various sized and shaped photos of majority of cats and dogs plus my 2nd pet rabbit who have shared my life.
I was lucky growing up, my parents both believed pets are family. Pets were a big thing for my parents, due to medical issues my mum had 2 miscarriages before I was born and 1after I was born. I was welcomed home from hospital by Goldie who was Crocker spaniel and Whiskie a black and white tortoiseshell. The spaniel was an old dog and would not have hurt anyone, the cat had used to tell the dog off for getting too close to my cot or pram.
I was given my first pet when I was about 3 or 4, brown Shihtzu puppy with white toes. Typical little girl, pup got used to me putting him in my dolls pram and wheeling him around. Remember mum saying when I started school he would put himself to bed in the pram, whilst he fitted, and as he got bigger the dolls cot.
dogs, cats, budgies, canaries, rosellas, rabbits, chooks, a duck are animals this city kid shared her life with, not all at the same time though. One year we had a goat in out backyard over winter, another time we had a neighbours horse in out yard for few weeks whilst fencing around her paddock was replaced.
pets can be such funny characters and the best friend a girl (or boy) can have

Hi everyone,
Has been a lovely afternoon sitting outside in the BB gardens in the sunshine. Coming inside the sun was shining through the stained glass windows throwing different colours all over the floor. Great fun watching all the cats trying to catch the suns rays and pouncing onto the different colours on the floor.
Mandarin tree was heavy with fruit, I’ve picked all the ripe ones for anyone who wants some, they are a nice size and so sweet in taste. Not as many oranges but those that are ripe are good nice and smell lovely. All the apple trees were loaded with ripe and semi ripe apples. Golden and red delicious, Fuji, Pink Lady plus others including some Granny Smiths. Anyone have anymore platters or bowls for the fruit, I’ve used all that I could find and doesn’t hold them all. Freshly picked rhubarb also.
I’ve taken some Granny Smiths and rhubarb to make apple rhubarb pie plus apple rhubarb crumble. Will be back later with them hot from the oven with various toppings including cream and ice cream

Oh, lovely, patches. I'd like my apple & rhubarb with custard! Pie, crumble, I'll have them both!
Today was a rather dull, drizzly day, & I was frozen when I got out of the pool.I whad intended a hot shower when my washing was in the dryer, making the bathroom warm, but I discovered I don't have any hot water coming through the taps. After hours, so I'll have to wait to report the problem, & maybe have to skip my exercise workout tomorrow, waiting for someone to come & fix it - I can only hope, because I don't want to be boiling jugs of water to have a sponge bath ... I still smell like chlorine, so not really nice to be close to tonight.... I'll just have to purr louder from up here in my hammock.
We had animals throughout my childhood, too. More when we had arrived in Australia & we had an acre (aprox. 0.4047 hectare), & there was a kangaroo & an emu there when we moved in. Then we had cat, dogs, various fish, birds (finches), chickens, 3 geese my bro found at the riverbank, a sheep, 3 generations of goats, a cow, a horse, a pig, a little green frog who chose to stay awhile, a bird like a hawk of some sort my dad cared for until it could fly again.
Mostly it was great with the animals around.
There's a cafe I know of which allows people to bring their dogs, & hase a few doggy snacks on the menu. They also have pictures all over the walls. It's not very close to me, but that might be just as well, because if it was close I would be there at least every week, enjoying some wonderful chicken teriyaki they make.
Hugzies Patches, & everyone,
mmMekitty

Howdy all. Been a bit of a while since I last dropped by. Think I was going through the disgusting experience that is tonsillitis the last time I paid a visit. Well I'm well and truly past that fortunately.
Have been quite busy with work which has been good. Booked travel in December to Turkey with my partner so it'll be nice to visit her family.
Gonna chill in the cafe for a bit now and see who comes on by.
Wouldn't mind an eclair if there is one going

I do declare, there is an eclair or two for you, HamSolo, & tonsilitis or not, you may have ice cream, too, although if it's been icy cold where you are, maybe not ....
I'm glad things are going well with work & hearing about your planned trip to Turkey with your partner to visit with her family. Lovely & exciting.
It is really great to hear from you.

Eclairs are absolutely amazing, one of my favourite desserts. Maybe today to the BB Cafe I'll bring a few pastries and yummy treats.
I'll also be running the bonfire tonight because it's incredibly cold.
HamSolo01, what are your plans for Turkey? That sounds so exciting.

Hello everyone…..🤗,
I will sit with you mmMeKitty and toast a branch full of marshmallows with you….
Quirky, I’ve never had an almond croissant before, I’ll have to try one…I love fresh cream but it doesn’t like me…I have a small intolerance to it… 😁 not enough to stop having a cream cake once in a few months…
I just popped in to throw some more wood onto the fire 🔥…put some potatoes in the hot embers and to just sit a while to warm up…..while watching the calming flickering flames before I make my way to bed...I do have my wheat pack that I warm up first and cuddle to keep my hands warm….
Good night everyone..I hope that everyone gets some good restful sleep tonight and tomorrow will be a day filled with happiness and joy…
Bedtime hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗everyone..
Grandy..
