The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi all,
There are some flyers for some local clubs around me where they are doing Xmas in July, but I've never done it myself personally. I suppose it is a more foody drinky thing, rather than presents and the such and seems more geared (to me) to be for office workers. Xmas once a year is enough for me it is so fraught with tension around my way.
I'm sorry about your dough mmMeKitty but the topping sounds scrumptious! I'll have that in that chair over there near the fire and if the marshmallows come down I will toast them and will eventually have to be rolled out of the cafe :).
Have a good evening everyone!

Hi everyone,
Don’t know what I would do without the café today.
Its cold, rainy and gloomy today. I am still recovering from a cold. Not COVID, I did a test. Although I am rugged up indoors I am still cold. I want another coffee but I need to clean the machine.
Today my heart goes out to those poor souls dealing with floods. I despair at their ordeal. I can’t deal with puddles forming in my own yard. I would be hopeless in a disaster.
I am off to get my second coffee. Enjoy the day wherever you are.

It's raining here too, and it's cold! We haven't had sunshine much at all for months, but at least we are not flooded like some places!

Oh, dear, I did lose that last post I was trying to write, while i kept beinging interrupted, not only with the auto-say message, but with 'Authentication failed' & I don't know what's wrong... I thought I needed to login agin, but my options when I click my picture, above are: Profile, Settings, & Log Out. It was getting on my nerves, so I left the page, & returned, to the same problem. so I signed out & signed on again, but this time I can't retrieve my written post, that I had to still finish.
Yes, it's gloomy weather again, but not much rain on me.
Just a thought, wondering if cleaning the coffee pot is part of the coffee experience, or can we hope someone will develop the self-cleaning coffee pot?
Then I thought, but I already have so much!
access to food, clothing, electricity & gas, a roof over my head, & no flood water...
& new glasses. 2 pairs, but I'm not quite happy. While I can still benefit from the best lenses I can get, I want them in both glasses. I'm willing to take the not-so-good pair to where the good one was made, & see if they can get the lenses remade to be more like the good ones.
& no warries about my mmMarshmallows, although they have been there since Easter, they'll still be good as when they were made. They are like American Twinkies - indestructible & will still be fresh when our galaxy comes to an end. In fact the only difference is that my mmMarshmallows have more vitamins & minerals in them - & less sugar.😹

Hello All, most of us hate the rain, but know we need it, however, it's raining here on the new forums, and can't see the forest through the trees.

Good morning everyone in the Cafe! Brrrr it's a crisp, fresh morning here. I have my hot water bottle on my lap and LOTS of layers to keep warm as I check in and ask HOW IS EVERYONE DOING TODAY?
mmMekitty you're so funny, from wherest do this incredibly healthy mmMarshmallows hark from? hahaha, you put a purry smile on my face. We have quote a few fat marshmallows for cooking over an open fire in the chiminea... happens less and less these days. I was thinking of making an icing with them for cupcakes. Just melt them and top the cakes, quite delish!
Up early to get 2 cars to the mechanic's this morning. Thankfully they have a loan car to borrow for free whilst your car is in for repairs or what not. You have to book in when it's available, I'm so grateful for this extra help.
I'm SO GRATEFUL to have been referred to this mechanic, he's the best I've ever had. I was even inclined to have my car regularly serviced (for the first time in my life lol).. he joins you up to a Roadside Service, including towing, "for free" and because I refer so many people to him, he joins me up for 6 months at a time.
Today P.son is buying a "new" lol car! It's from my eldest ds, boyfriend's, mother. She knew we were having issues with cars and offered it to us for such a good price, I'm so grateful. She's been there as a single parent, so really gets the issues we face. I'm happy our extended family is slowly rebuilding with nice, caring people.
No rain here atm, SO GRATEFUL lol. Fine weather gives the cement on the roof we did yesterday, more time to set. Praying this works!
Have a wonderful day today wherever you are my beautiful BB friends,
Love EM

Good Morning all,
Just finished my 1st coffee. It's been a busy morning.
There are 2 ducks in the pool who don't appear bothered by the rain. The ducks make a mess in the pool but have a nest in the garden and have been coming here for several years, so I let them stay. When the chicks hatch they eventually leave. Last year we had 13 babies.
Have a lovely day everyone.
