The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

It's actually a bit warmer today. 😹Celebrating 1 or 2 degrees warmer!! Can barely credit it.
Thanks Paws, for giving me reason to put that thought that I was being treated like a scammer, into a realistic perspeective, at least until I do need to talk to the higher-up someone.😺
Ah, progress...really? All these innovations, upgrades & updates promising they are making things easier, more intuitive, with user-friendly interfaces, intelligent design & so smart - I wonder...

It's quiet in the cafe today. Maybe I will take a quiet moment in the corner and think. I had a really bad spiral around four days ago and was really glad to get some help from others when I posted. I am starting to find my feet, the mood is generally stable, and I'm not in a state of panic. I never know when these things will happen to me...like anyone really.
I went to see a play yesterday about a woman (Sara Berndhart) who wanted to play McBeth, ignoring all of the protests over Paris and all the gossip. It was a fun time and a good play. Tonight I and the other half will watch another horror movie, I got Scream 5 out of the library, but he has turned his nose up at that one. Fine, I'll watch it myself.
Today at the cafe, I am in a jaffle mood, might have a savory mince jaffle and a coffee to go. I used to have them at school a long time ago. Does anyone else remember what they had at the school tuckshop?

Hi Leisa,
I remember Boston Buns, & long cream filled donuts with a bright red raspberry jam stripe down the very thick cream, & (oh terrible) cough lollies, which I liked eating like any old ordinary lollies, & deep purple ice blocks which made my mouth purple.
My parents did wantus to take sandwiches, & we didn't have much pocket money. I was one of the kids not too proud to scunge for bottles & ice block sicks so I could buy the things I mentioned.
Today I had a cuddle of one of my helper's two-week old puppies. A warmly golden Labrador girl. Her dog had 9 puppies this time, & she was checking to be sure the puppy I was holding was okay every few minutes. But the sweetheart nuzzled into my side, up towards my armpit as if I could have milk on offer somewhere, & she was believing it surely must be close, the way she nuzzled at me. 😸Eventually, with a little help, because her claws were getting caught in my jumper, she turned herself around , to check out my other side, but no milk there! So, tired, I suppose, she settled down to have a nap while I held her, cradling her rear end in one hand, while she rested along my arm & chest, her nose tucked into my elbow bend. While sleeping she' twitching as if in dreams.
She felt so peacefully trusting, how easily she relaxed - how could I not relaxed?
All the while her other dogs want attention. Not so much mummy dog; she is only interested in protecting her pups, & therefore, checking on the one I held. Her other adult dog, a male, not daddy, kept bringing a tennis ball, well chewed, trying to gain my attention. She has another older puppy, who is all legs & energy, & hasn't learned that jumping up may not be welcome. He is a gorgeous pup. He'd be the equivalent of the cheeky Larrikin in grade 1 or 2 at school, but so cute, he tends to get away with a lot of mischief.
All the other puppies were in their big bed, where mummy dog feeds & cares for them. Of-course, if this little sweetie had shown any signs of discomfort or needing to go back to mum, I would have let my helper take her from me. But while she was so quiet, with just little twitches, sleeping, with barely a single whimper the whole time, I think I could have held her all night if she wanted.
this was such a lovely part of my fairly long day/afternoon. So that's why I haven't been seen around the Café today.
Love a Jaffle now...before I snooze...Need some vegies in it... & cheese, naturally 😺in front of the fire again.
Warmly❤️❤️❤️

Hi, there mmMekitty,
I remember years of vegemite sandwiches, absolute years. My mum actually put Vegemite on my dummy, I blame her for my addiction to Vegemite. Mum also put a small amount of Jersey Caramels in my bag one day, I thought it was sheer brilliance, I really loved those lollies and they didn't melt. Nowadays I love the red raspberries, I particularly love to chew on them and love that the taste stays with them until you have swallowed it all.
What a lovely afternoon you had with the puppies! They are so vulnerable, aren't they? My cat has taken it upon herself to sit on my lap each and every night in front of the tv. I hate to move she settles on my lap really quickly and sleeps. As I've mentioned before she is 17 years now, and maybe she finds comfort with her family. The cafe is quiet again as I sit and contemplate the day again I am drawn to that Chicken Ceaser Salad left behind, I might have that for tea....just a light one.
Hoping everyone is well

I was going to make something like a chicken, broccoli, mini gnocchi frittata, with cheese on top, & using up a little of the carrot & potato soup I don't like much, in the egg mix, until I decided to use ham instead of chicken.😺 Got it in the oven now.
I enjoy Caesar Salad, too, especially when it has both chicken & bacon.
If I could have asked for Mekitty to be perfect, she would have liked to be held & tocurl up on my lap. My lap - well, she slid off too easily, so I guess that's why she didn't like it. She didn't like sitting next to me, eve, unless it was squashed between my back & the backrest of my office chair, while I was at my PC. & she claimed that chair when I wasn't there, too. & the centre of my bed...😺
Those 9 puppies aren't getting around much just yet. I think they will soon be, though, & my helper & her hubby will be putting newspaper all over the floor soon, & trying to keep up or track them down! Their older pup is going to have learn very quickly how to be an 'big brother', & to be gentle with them. What might mummy dog do if he doesn't?
❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi everyone
Just made English breakfast tea it’s piping hot and I’m ready to share. I have some crumpets too but can’t cook them till it’s closer to morning I don’t want to wake up household. I have honey, berry jam or Vegemite your choice of what toppings you want. I’ve started using only pure butter no margarine here. I don’t even buy the soft butter that has margarine whipped into it. Thankfully there’s a new pure butter that they have that is easier to spread. I was super shocked that they had hid margarine and bad grease in butter.
we only use olive oil coconut oil and pure butter in my kitchen. I get enough junk in my takeaway food so I try and be careful at home.
Aldi used to have southern fried chicken pieces that were in meat aisle just bake in oven and you had home made kfc. Can’t find them now so I will check out the chicken you suggested. Yummy.
I should have hot crumpets for all at 6:30am and I’ll brew another pot of English breakfast tea and make some extra strong cappuccino too.

Good morning everyone!😺
I am happy to get in the kitchen again, now my flu is most assurdedly gone, & make some 🍌&🍓toasties. Not completely nushy 🍌&🍓 atop bread, while toasting in a frypan, so the topping is warmed. The topping can include honey, if you would like very sweet. I have been thinking other berries & grape slices would work well, too. 😸
Happy to have extra large cappuccino so it will have extra fluffy froth on top. Nothing like lots of little bubbles getting up your nose first thing in the morning.😹
Sunshine in the window, too, so lovely. Toasting meself.😸
