The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe

😺It was taking me so long to post, I didn't notice Grandy had got in there ahead of me!
I was so busy also eating pancakes & scones while typing...
I'm sure, without a doubt, Grandy, your pancakes were better than mine. I kept finding all these little cat hairs in mine. 😾 Here I was thinking of becoming a great big puff ball, with a tail, so, I can't afford to lose hair now.
thanks for the extra blanket, Grandy, looks like I'll be wanting one after all...😸
How did you get so many air bubbles to stay in the mix? These scones are so light I need the jam & cream to weigh them down. Otherwise they would float away.😺
Hi Moonstruck, (from not so far away), 😺

Hi Everyone, on my mobile if somebody rings me the call is registered on the phone app, so if I press that all the phone calls are there, so I have the chance to block any numbers that may seem to be a scam, then they can't ring me back.
They may however use a different phone number as what has happened with me several times but I block that one too.
Take care.
Geoff.

Hi Geoff, I think I've blocked hundreds of phone numbers over the years, since when I first had an iPhone 5.
We really need to protect ourselves, know who we are dealing with,& understand the proper procedures if a problem actually does occur with a purchase or delivery or if a security breech has possibly effected you. Don't rely on the info in an email or message, especially if you are asked to link directly from the email or message.
Know the signs to look for, how to spot a likely scam.
First up, if I have genuine dealings with a company or person, they know who I am. To demonstrate this to me, they ought to include my name, account number, or billing address.
Trouble is, now, when phoning companies, they are expecting us to confirm our identities by giving them such info as a scammer would be asking , too. The procedure doesn't go so far as to ask me to state bank details, but seems enough to be stealing my. identity or to make a new one with real info.
It's like talking to machines more & more, & identifying who is the genuine caller or sender of emails & messages is getting more difficult. We really do have to keep our wits about us.

Oh, this flu is awful, it's made me into a shivering wreck. I can't speak for coughing and this tap of a nose! I'm full of misery. How long does it take to go away? I have had a RAT test and am negative. Anyway enough of the poor me. I actually had a person ring me yesterday and told me my computer was highly affected, and I told him I do not own a computer (just to see what he would do). He asked me to repeat myself and I told him the same thing. He then hung up. I am not saying this is the way to go, but it's funny how they can't banter if they have nothing to banter with.
I'm not hungry at all, but those scones so do sound nice. My mum makes them with lemonade as well she says that this is the most important part. Gosh, my mood is poor as well. I feel quite low. I'll get out the other side but for now, things look a bit bleak.
I hope this finds you all well

Hi Leisa,
The flu I have just had, I had noticed symptoms 2 weeks ago. Finally, today, I think I have only very slight symptoms & feel back to 'normal'. I am cautious, because my nose usually has problems anyway.
So, here's lots of soup for you, as well as the lemon & honey drink, & a couple big boxes of soft tissues, (& a bin for the used), & whatever else, for aches & sore throat that you would usually use. Some people like Ginger Ale. Not me, but if you do, we'll get some of that, too. & warm jammies, & well, I wore my fleecy new shirt/jacket with the hoodup over my head most of the time.
& simply to cheer you up, there's music & a fluffy teddy bear to help you sleep when you can.
& if you think you are so sick with this flu, you feel you need help, call your GP for advice.

I know it's fun to try to trip someone up when they have a script they are working to, but, really, it is safer to not answer the calls at all. Answering a scammer calling tells them, someone is at the other end, & so they will try to get to you again, or pass your along so others can try. It doesn't take many people to fall for their scams to make thousands of attempts worth while.
Warmly, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey Paul
l do the same only ones l answer are my contacts or a customer number l'm expecting to call me back .
l've got 100s of scam numbers blocked on mine. They also have a machine that can change their number at your end so if you block one it calls with a new one . typically 02 or 03 or +44, uk , things like those parts will still show but the rest of the number will be a bit different. l't getting crazy the stress of owning a phone these days is just insane.
l won't put my number down anywhere especially internet unless l know l can trust them now it's just too crazy.

Hi Paws, great strategy, considering you have to answer the work phone. I wonder if I'm being treated like that, sometimes, when I am on hold & then on hold again... I'm no scammer, just someone who has a lot of trouble keying in all the numbers, like account numbers or when they ask for me to key in my own phone number... it's slow with voice over turned on, & I have to have it turned on to use the keypad.
Maybe you can answer a question I have. Why is the music on hold so very loud?

Hi rx,
I agree, rx, it really has gotten out of control.
A really annoying thing, is the company one of my helpers works for, the other day, phoned me about someone else coming to my place because my usual helper will be away. The staff member phoned from a number beginning (07) (for Qld) then 21...... & she said it is a number like this because she is phoning from her computer. It doesn't look like a usual Brisbane Qld number, not even one of the coasts. That doesn't help when it comes to spotting suspect numbers.
I'd appreciate if someone from a business is going to call me back, that they tell me the number they will call from. For now, the only thing to do is to let calls go to voicemail.
The thing I'd like most is if people would call me back when they said they would, & when I've had to leave a message.
Warmly, ❤️❤️❤️,

Hi mmMekitty,
I would like to know why the music on hold is so loud too. Neither of the companies where I did switchboard had music for people on hold & neither company had those horrible automatic answer machine where you have to listen to a set of choices then push the right number... but I should confess the first company was back in the days before scammers or even direct dial telephone exchanges.
I doubt you are being mistaken for a scammer lass... the scammers that ring businesses are easy to spot as they are always pushy/rude & insisting that they be put through to the person in charge...
Hugs
Paws
