Hello,
I thought I would start this thread, about our pets.
I have read in the forums a lot of us has a pet or pets of some kind.
Be it a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, guinie pig, tortoise, snake, lizard etc: they bring joy to our lives, they are there for us giving us unconditional love.
I thought a it would be nice if we could share our pets antics, or if you've seen other animals, doing things that have made you laugh.
They can be funny, loving, outrageous, anything that your pet does or does not do that puts a smile on your face and might put a smile on someone's face that is struggling.
Please keep the stories light hearted and happy,
We all love our pets, let's let others enjoy them as well..
I will go first to get it up and running.
I have two little dogs, Maltese x Yorkshire x Aussie Terriers, I have Mum (4 years old) and Daughter (2years old).
My dogs have the run of the house, my back screen door after many attempts and lots of failures I put a doggie dog into it. I love theses two they are my fur family.
My story is about another dog I had many years ago, I called him boof he was a Belgium Shepard, I was sitting at my kitchen table one day just looking out my back door (creedance). Boof was just relaxing in the shade with my young son. It was a hot day and I thought I might take my young son into the pool. I was about to go outside when all of a sudden a cat ran across our yard, well Boof just took off after the cat yep my young son took off after Boof, then Boof it looked like his brakes stopped working, he was chasing the cat then I saw him slide (son still chasing him). he couldnt stop, he slid into the swimming pool with such force he bent the tin frame nearly flat to the inside of the pool, well a waterfall began, Boof was on the other side of the pool he crashed straight through it, my son ended up slipping on the water skidded to the other end of the pool, crashing and landing on Boofy scream of laughter was coming from my son, absolutely soaked to the skin covered in mud, Boof was trying to get up, slipping all over the place from the mud as well I think he was seeing stars from his hard hit, he couldn't get up. I couldn't stop laughing at the pair of them. They looked so funny covered in mud, the pool was later repaired. Son and dog was hosed off so it all ended well
Do you have a pet story to tell?
Kind thoughts
Grandy.

Hi Grandy and everyone
We had an impromptu family dinner tonight with almost all the kids home, which is rare lol.
Then when eldest daughter went to leave with the grandchildren and her dog, our pet poodle was waiting. Youngest daughter "he wants you to say goodbye to him too" so eldest daughter bent down to give him a goodbye pat and he nearly jumped into her arms!
For the first time. He cuddled into her like the koala baby he is lol. She was so happy he seemed to finally be less anxious around her.
We rescued him a few years ago and his anxiety was off the Richter scale. This year with so many of us being home alot, he has settled down so much.
Youngest D virtually carries him around like a baby almost the entire time she's at home lol.
He sleeps on her bed at night and because BOTH D and poodle got so big, I had to buy "them" a bigger bed this year.
I took him to the Vet last weekend for a few issues and she gave me a natural spray for wherever he is to relax him. OMG THIS STUFF IS MAGIC. The Vet only sprayed it once where he was sitting at the surgery and yet he's been pretty chilled all week! He seems to have lost 95% of his anxiety! Barking less. Chewing on things less. Happy to sleep on the floor wherever we are.
I have lots of pet stories but my heart was warmed about the big cuddle for eldest D tonight.
We may be dogsitting eldest Ds dog all weekend, another rescue puppy, she's lots of fun.
I'll just say now that ALL our pets are always rescues lol.
Love EM

Hello everyone...
That’s so cute your daughter carrying around fur baby like a real baby...Your daughter must have a lot of love for puppy...
This afternoon I was sitting in my lounge room..both my dogs were asleep on my other lounge...I was sitting down and playing an Internet game..
All of a sudden both my furs leaped off the lounge and started barking and running outside...Okay..one runs out the back door..that’s okay..the other run into my front steel screen door...it was closed..and went tumbling sideways...She got up still barking and tried it again...then looked at me as if to say....oh it’s closed...then she took off out the back door....and joined her mumma out front...by now the noise they heard must have gone...
I couldn’t stop laughing at my poor fur baby...The look on her face was priceless....
Just had to share this...
She is okay and both of them are having a yummy dinner of chicken necks...there favourite food ever...besides schmakos ....

Hi everyone....
I was enjoying a good sleep last night..then around 1:30am..my 2 little fur girls decided they wanted to play chase with each other...I bought them a toy a few days ago and have been playing tug-of-war with it and chasing...I let them go...they are tiny dogs but when they run..jump.. play..they sound like baby elephants 🐘 ..after around 20 they came back to bed puffing and panting...back to sleep all of us...for a few hours then they were at it again...
Okay it’s 4:30am now I may as well make a cuppa tea..until they finish playing, instead of laying in bed, trying to sleep....
I got up...walked into the lounge room...and it looked liked it had snowed in their...and in the kitchen, and the dining room, and the bathroom...even I’m my bedroom and on the bed as well.....It wasn’t their new toy they were playing with...it was a box of tissues...they continued to play while I just stood their in disbelief of all the mess I had to clean up....they were having the time of their lives..trying to eat the tissues and spitting them out..holding them with one foot and breaking them into miniature pieces...even the box was shredded into a million pieces....
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry....I think I done a bit of both.😁😂...Not wanting to come home from work to a house that was full of tissue snow...I cleaned the bulk of it before I went to work,,,A few times throughout my day at work...I had some giggles thinking about how much fun they must have had 😂😂...
Didnt take long to vacuum it all up...from no one the box of tissues will be placed out of their reach....

Hello everyone....
A couple of days ago, I thought I would try my hand at knitting a nice warm blanket for when I sit on the lounge...
I casted on a lot of stitches and over a couple of days continued to knit my warm blanket...it was growing in length, now over 30cm long..I was feeling very proud of me....
I packed it back into my knitting box and left it I it on the coffee table in the lounge room while I went to bed....easier to get motivated and start if I can see it...
Well when I woke the next morning, my beautiful masterpiece was spread all over the lounge room...along with the the ball of wool that I was using...
My lounge room looked like a mini cyclone went through it...Well 2 mini little fur cyclones did😁...I didn’t realise just how much wool was in a ball...
Wool on top of behind, on and behind my 2 lounges as well as over the top of both the coffee tables..and my floor..was a mess of scrunched up matted up, knotted up wool...This all happened when I was asleep...really!....I must be loosing my hearing not to have them.....
When I started cleaning up the mess...my little fur babies took off and started hiding behind the lounge...not to be seen again until I finished cleaning...then out they come...one still tangled up in some wool...😂..
I untangled her then gave them a treat....because I love them so much..
My furs love nothing more then making a mess for their mumma....

Awww you spoil your fur babies Grandy and they had lots of fun by the sounds of it!
My grandmother had the same thing happen when she brought home a puppy.
Nana didn't know what to call her, this tiny little thing.
The first night she was there, she pulled apart all Nana's knitting and THEN my Nana knew what to call her.
The puppy had part of one leg missing but that didn't stop her lol, Nana called her "Muscles".
Sweet story Grandy.

lt still amazes me to this day of how birds are just little people with wings.
lf you can muster up something that sounds something like a magpie , they'll talk back to you and listen to you, they'll even follow you round the yard . l can call them from way over in the paddock cross the road with my really bad magpie sound, and they come.
Yesterday l had one of the beautiful little finches in the kitcjen , flying round scared trying to find a way out. l said it's ok mate don't worry one minute and we'll have you outa here. then l gestured with my hand you just go up to that end of the bench for a sec and relax l'll open the window. He went up to that end, l kid you not. l opened it he watched then l stood back and gestured with my hand there ya go little mate. He gently flew back over to the window and to out.
l swear he knew.

And l'm not sure if l mentioned the eagle .
One day l was coming back from my cabin normal speed round a bend and something on the side- corner of my eye looked like a tree stump or something , it was a huge eagle eating a rabbit. Buy then my car was only meters away he scared and tried to take off. Well they can't take off so fast from the ground and straight up to doge a car- he few into the car instead of away. l'm trying to brake and his massive talons bigger than my hands we're basically on the screen and l could feel and see the huge wings forcing trying to get himself above the car as fast as he could to miss it. The wings were right across the car and out each side he looked like a feathered jumbo. Well between my braking and his incredible effort we missed each other but he was exhausted and relanded on a fence post 40 mtrs over. l backed up to parallel across from him from the road and we both sat there for about a minute just looking at each other. Dunno if you know but no way an eagle would normally just sit there so close.
l said to him out the window l'm so sorry my friend l didn't see you , thk god you could get away . And he just stood there , looking at my face , maybe even my words. And then l said ok , well l'll let you rest , and l drove away. lt was the most incredible encounter .
rx . ps , l actually took his picture on the post too , if we could do it here l could put it in. Showing my brother he said my God he's as big as the damn fence pot no wonder you thought it was a tree stump.

Hello EM, RX and everyone...
RX...I have a few times had birds fly in my home...I love feeding them and the little sparrows have made their home close by...they seem in live in a big group...or I should say flock....I keep my dogs kibble near the back door and have seen the magpies pop inside grab a few peace’s of the kibble and fly out again....
My friend Betty has been using mouse traps with this horrible mouse plague out here...When she catches 1 or 2 or 3 she throws out the back yard...(we are not allowed to put them in our garbages)....The magpies are sitting in the gun tree near hers and as soon as she throws them in the backyard..then a big kaffoffle starts between the magpies to grab one...The roads I’m told are full of birds early morning collecting the passed away mice from the cars driving over them at night....It’s unbelievable just how many mice are here....I have spent many hours sealing up any tiny hole in my home...I am mouse free atm...but that won’t last long...
I love eagles as many people do....There are a few here that I have seen on occasions...even had one on my electricity box....They really are huge...If I remember properly Australian eagles are one of the largest in the world...
Im wondering if you could put the picture of the eagle onto your avatar photo...only temporarily if you want to...so we can see the beautiful creature.....only a thought RX....up to you...
EM...Maybe all little dogs are mischievous..but very cute of course....My dogs love tissue, wool, cotton buds, cotton wool, toilet paper and pillow filling....I have to be very careful not to leave these things out...and keep my bathroom door closed when I’m not home😂...Like RX..I have always said that dogs and puppies are little children with fur....because they are always happy and have beautiful souls...
Live and hugs everyone..,
Grandy..

Hit Grandy
mouse plaque hey on man they're a pest when they're that bad aren't they we had one here a few yrs back.
Could well see the maggies waiting for mice , they're such characters. That's a great idea about the eagle pic l'll give that a go. He was 30 or 40 mtrs away though so not sure if we can zoom an avator but l'll find it and try that. Shame l didn't mess around zooming or anything but l knew he'd take off if l stayed too long.
Hope the plaque ends soon , our was completely normal again the next yr don't think l've see a mouse since.
